hehe it's excellent eh... hubby's now coming around to the idea, especially as his gran a year after still goes on about her journal jar I made and wants more prompts printed out...
Gonna have a scout around google see what I can find to do tomorrow...
I like the idea on that site you gave me for the 'recycled card' my brother is the only one with a personality like that that could get away with it lol..

Just found this some good ideas for recycling cards, particularly like the idea of the christmas card jigsaw... my niece would love this... think i'll take some of the big ones, laminate, and cut up, pop in a little fancy box (either a tin or a box made with another christmas card) and pop in her christmas eve box... She'd like that

It was something I picked up on these threads, it's prompts you put in a jar, and give to someone along with a notebook/diary i'll get a link and post it to you so you can see hon
Here we are hon... just click the link and it will take you to it..
You don't need to use them all as most of them wont be suitable to the individual, you could even add your own. It's a fun little gift...
You could cover/decorate the pen and notebook/diary as well as the jar... and it's suitable for anyone, kids and adults alike:)
lots of ladies/gents on here have made them and they seem to be very well received.

it's ok hon no probs.... just passing on tips i've picked up from here
my brother wants one this year, well technically he wanted one for christmas 09 and I didn't have time to do it, so i'm going to do a big one for him for his birthday in may! if that's too optimistic, then it'll be for xmas '10.
I'm sure your daughter will love it

Regarding journal jars, I like the idea I've read somewhere of doing a Memory jar too. This is where you just have plain strips of paper that go in the jar and write down any memories that you want to remember. For example, if you've had a baby and want to remember all it's milestones you would write the date and what they did and pop it in the jar. Its a simple idea that doesn't take much effort which is rather useful when you are a busy mum/parent with a baby! You could still decorate the jar creatively on whatever theme you want. It doesn't have to be a baby one, it could simply be 'Memories of 2010' or whatever...I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0

when DH and I were first courting i made him a "sweetie jar" which is along the same lines. you write down little things you love about the person who will receive it on small pieces of coloured paper, then you scrunch each one up into little balls and pop them in the jar. then whenever the person is feeling a little bit down they can open the jar, take out a "sweetie" and whatever you have written should make them smile. DH still has it 8yrs later!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

ARGH can someone help. For the life of me I can't find it anywhere.
I was surfing these threads a few days ago and found a mug cozy that was knitted, it was (I think, don't quote me) white and pink, it was a picture that a member had posted, and it was either on this one or the 2009 one, and i've tried to find it but just can't seem to see it... if anyone can help please.... I'm wondering if the person that made it had a pattern or knew where I could get the pattern, it's one that i've seen that I really like...
cheers:):)

I managed to make some hairbands yesterday from some felt flowers I found which I think were free with a magazine and some felt scraps also lying around.
I don't know how to post a picture but have uploaded pictures to my blog - http://craftingmad.wordpress.com/.
I thought they would make nice little prezzies for my daughters girly school friends. I also thought I might try and make some more for some craft fairs I am going to book.
Do you all think they will sell well and how much would you charge? It took me about 2 hours to make 7 bobbles but I was out of practise as I have'nt sewn since I left school (that was a long time ago - trust me!).
Hope you like them and that I might have provided a bit of inspiration.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
My warm fuzzies book arrived today! Going to have a sit down and good read through so I can decide what I am going to make from it first. Does anyone have a good site that they use to order felt products??Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
