I have posted this idea on my home page today.... It is edible naughts and crosses
    002.JPG

It is a really cheap gift if you are willing to make the board (don't copy mine it needs some tweaking!!) works out at about 40p per game!!
all details of sweets etc on my homepage today x

Love this idea!! Where did you get the sweeties from?

I haven't posted on here for ages guys, I have had a busy couple of months but really pleased to say I'll be getting more tutorials on my handmadeheartfelted blogspot blog (see home page in profile!) in the next few days/weeks. Please forgive my absence? :A:A

  • Hello everyone

I have been lurking on this thread (and a couple of others) for a while now and it's been a revelation finding out that people are prepared for Christmas so early! I'm usually dashing round the shops extremely stressed in December

Anyway, I am very much inspired by your organisation skills and have decided to make an early start this year and even make some homemade goodies for members of the family. (Hopefully they'll be edible and not look like a child of five has tried to make them.):rotfl:

Catherine, i love snowman soup its so effective as a gift and everyone will be getting the mug and soup this year, want to make it a tradition where they all get mug and soup....lol

We Will be making it this year DD aged 10 caught me lurking on here last night and then she has been on here today and on craftfairies blog she has written a list of what she needs to make xmas presents for everyone:D I am going to order everything so we can start making them in the half term.

Can anyone tell me though how early we can make the snowman soup as we want to send this to family for xmas but because they live so far away I usually send there presents the 1st or second week of december would this be to early to make it? I love all your ideas you are all very talented and your work is lovely:D

  • Hi All,

I found this site about a fortnight ago and have been busy reading all the previous posts. Think my husband is now completely fed up of trying to tear me away! ;) i hope you don't mind me joining in.

I love making xmas gifts, I think it shows so much thought and love when you've spent time creating something yourself.

This thread has given me so many ideas, I think you're all wonderfully talanted!

Things I'll be making this year are:
Knitted teddy for my DS (started)
    Chocoholics hamper for SIL (started)
Bean bag door stops from some lovely vintage looking tea towels I found. These are going to various family members but I've started them already!
Also love the "Night at the Movies" hampers I've seen mentioned here (I'm sorry, can't remember who posted about them :embarasse)
I'm also going to make some personilsed wooden xmas baubles for DS's friends.
The list keeps getting added to all the time though!

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for my vintage tea sets. I have about 7(!) in total, so around 40 cups, saucers and side plates, that I bought for my wedding in June but would like to re-gift or 'upcycle' them this xmas. I've also got some old (but clean) towels that I wondered whether anyone had any ideas for.

Thanks, sorry about the long post. Will try and keep it shorter in the future!

    xx

What about giving some people afternoon tea sets, you could include some scones and jam and then send away for some samples of tea and coffee to go with it?
