kms26 - just had another thought about the felt........if you've got some white felt and an empty gravy tub, stick the felt round the tub, either a small ladies or childs sock -bright colours -cut off at the heel.....pull it over the top of the tub -tie elastic bands near the top so it looks like a ski-hat (sort of),stick some goggle eyes on and some felt for a nose and mouth, fill with white bon bons or marshmallows for a ''pot of snowballs''.
    Cheap and cheerful:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Blanket stitch is like this:

    SDC11751.jpg

It goes in and out around the object you are sewing (Sorry, even though I made this out of foam) I am not a sew-er. I remember it being easy though, it would have to be for me to do it! :D

EDIT: Oh you beat me to it Mary!

  • clarewop- I am planning on blackberrying this week with little ones and making jam which will go as part of family Christmas presents. I did it later last year but with weather they are mostly ripe already! Also I have just opened my last jar of blackberry jam made last year and it is fine! yum yum.
Yay - my peg stuck up overnight and held 2 sheets of paper! Off to make some more in a sec.
    Flyingpig- lovely mice.
Out of FELT you could make a stocking or decorate one. and fill with sweets. Or do 25 little stockings each with a choc for advent calender. Glasses holder. Cut felt into a scene and stick on a glass small enough to be a tealight holder. patches for clothes? Running out of ideas now.
