To make santa choc bar
1. Wrap choc bar in red paper, where the seam is will be the back, use double sided tape to make a neat join.
2. Cut white plain or glitter paper band for round the bottom of Santa's top and stick down - again double sided tape is easier and neater.
3. Cut a beard and moustache out of same paper and stick down.
4.Cut a band in black paper for belt and stick down with double sided tape.
5. Make a buckle in silver card/paper & stick down
6. Draw a line down the centre and add three small black buttons/flat backed gems.
Thats about it.

Hi,
Long time lurker here. Read the whole thread and love it as am totally mad about Christmas.
Loving the Santa Chocolate bars Helen!
I think it was on here that I saw someone had done some magnetic pegs which I would love to do for Christmas presents as we don't spend loads. I cannot find magnets small enough to go on back of a wooden peg. Peg measures under 1cm! Have looked in Hobbycraft and tried on ebay but either I am looking and searching in the wrong place or going mad. Can anyone help and tell me where to get tiny but strong magnets from???
Am going to have to start looking for inspiration to share.
Love the martha stewart site.0 -

Love the martha stewart site.
I bought some of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100-NEODYMIUM-SUPER-STRONG-MAGNETS-7-5x5-8x1-7mm-N35-/160388223708?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0
they are tiny, but very strong and hold up my pegs and some plastic coasters I'm making into magnets.0 -
Are these the sort of pegs you mean?
I used flat house shaped magnets I got for free from Barclays Bank, I think they were advertising house insurance, everytime I went into the bank I would take a few or ten!!!!!!! I cut them up into strips and glued them on the end of the peg. They were so EASY to cut with ordinary scissors.
BUT - if you can't find any free magnets - you can buy sheets of A4 magnetic sheet from Hobbycraft (and other places I'm sure) and packets of small round (proper magnets) - I think I had some from e-bay.
Reading your post has made me think I ought to make some more pegs this year - I might try some with a Christmas Theme, with Christmas embellishments and some with a general theme with words on like URGENT and BILLS .....
Thinks ........I've got some quite large plain plastic peg shaped magnets already, think they were from Poundland or BM Bargains that are screaming to be "decorated" ................

Hi All
Chasing Sunshine - if you dont get any joy with your folding box you could try the little boxes from making gifts magazine com (sorry i cant link). They look quite sweet for popping chocs in
And for the person asking about making home made wrapping - you could decorate it by making your own christmas bows. Dead easy and take around 3 mins but look soooo impressive! All junk mail, mags and even catalogues get turned into them in our house! Easy enough for kids to do too.
