Charlice - if you cant find any, then you decorate some brown paper with red ribbons, or paint on simple shapes like stars and trees. Get your children (if you have any!) to walk on the paper with red or green or gold feet!

something like this maybe http://www.marthastewart.com/article/button-gift-wrap or something totally differen try fabric! http://www.skiptomylou.org/2009/08/19/furoshiki/

Sorry forgot the name of the person looking for xmas decs but http://www.craftideas.info/html/star_ornament.html

http://www.scoutiegirl.com/2009/12/tutorial-crafting-a-holiday-card-keepsake-ornament-by-nicole-of-lillyella.html i thought about doing this with different xmas coloured card

Wow I love the gift wrap on the Martha Stewart website that is really cool! I may be tempted to give that a go! At this rate I will be making loads of presents just so I can wrap them up differently lol!

I really like the ornament you're thinking of making as well - although it looks rather complicated for my liking!!

I always find it hot in that shop!! They were by the tills but a lady was making room for them while i was there:p
I don't know how the staff stand it. Especially when it's busy! I'll have a look for paper in there tomorrow since I'm going into town early before work. :)

Took a trip to the card factory last night as recommended and managed to get 9 metres of christmas wrapping paper for £1 and even got my Christmas cards while I was there and they were supporting Macmillian Cancer relief so even better!

Thanks so much for the heads up! As much as I love the button gift wrap I really don't think I would have had time what with work and making the presents so I may have to use that idea in the future for birthday presents as they are more spread out across the year!

could people tell me where they get their brown wrapping paper from cheaply please? i'm trying to avoid commercial wrapping paper now, so using various things, but need a stock of brown.

i used to get it in ikea, but don't think they do it any more, and it's not convenient ( plus if i go, i always spend waaaaay to much on stuff........that i don;t need......but it's sooooo nice!!:o)

I saw some in Poundland the other day, don't know what it is like or anything. Also Poundstretcher also sell it. You can slso buy it from storage companies like the big Yellow company.
  • does anybody know anywhere that sells the hampers ... I mean box/basket whatever it is you are going to put your things in at a reasonable price xx

Again i got 4 from Poundland the other day although they were quite small. But i know Dunelm sell them and they have had a sale on recently, have you tried ebay? I got 2 off there last year.

How big do you want? And how many do you want? What about a gift box from card shops?
