Back on the 'chocolate' theme.......I've got a load of chocolate mint in the garden............thought I could add this to sons girlfriends birthday 'choccy' box but not sure whether to dry it and put it in a pot or try and send some cuttings so she can grow her own.........would it transport ok do you think ? Or is it worth the risk ? Last thing I want is for her to open her pressy and see a manky looking bunch of leaves..............lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

DD is turning craft sets she's been given over the years into Xmas pressies
Doing the crafting is keeping her quiet while I do uni work and I have the small gift boxes (small boxes that had chocs in them that were on clearance in Boots after Xmas
) ready to wrap them
I can't say what she's been making as recipients may be reading this but she is working really hard and carefully
Can't wait to have my dining table back though :rotfl:

Hi All
I hope you don't mind me posting a message but I was so glad to see that other people are preparing for Christmas that I felt compelled to write something! Everybody I speak to keeps telling me to be quiet when I mention Christmas!!
I am currently making some Christmas gifts these include a scarf that I crocheted for my sister, a cross stitch of some poppies for my mum and two bags that I am currently sewing for my mums step grandchildren. Other than that I have no ideas whatsoever!
I had a look on the link previously posted at the finished hampers and they are a FANTASTIC idea - I would love to make one of these for my mother in law (of sorts) what sort of themes do people tend to use?Keep on comping!

Hey not strictly Christmas but could anyone advise? I am going to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in October to do some work with a charity and would like to raise a little money. What kind of thing do you think I could sell at work to make a little cash?God is good, all the time

Hi Sian,
I think it depends on the people at work. How old are they? Do they have young families? The answer to these questions will impact on what appeals to them.
Have a think about:
* Home baking
* Tombola
* Raffle
* Lunchtime Bingo
* Guess the number of sweets in the jar
Do you work in an office? If so would people be interested in funky photo frames for their desks (if allowed!) or desk organisers etc?
A couple of pages back some people had fantastic ideas for Halloween crafting which could be profitable if the people you work with have primary school aged children.
Alternatively, you could be encourage your co-workers to be super organised and sell them fantastic Christmas crafts! (literally hundreds of ideas detailed on this thread)"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0
