    Thanks - nice idea.

Been into town this morning to get some clasps for handbag charms..........no luck ! Felt sure our little sewing shop would have them -they have all sorts-but no...........tried the lock and key shop-nothing !
So think I'll be ordering on line.......and there's me trying to support local shops.............oh well, can't win all the time.

Anyone know how to make a 'flannel dog' ? Bit like the reindeer but a dog (expect its much the same really) -just that I found I'd got two more new flannels -one grey and one coffee colour and I could make one for the lad who used to live with us as he's got a dog.

i got some gold coloured tea light pot things from Mr M's the other day. been looking in preperation for the pots of gold i am going to make. They were £1 each which is about what i had planned plus friends will be able to use them afterwards. Might even put a t-light in with it. They actually call them bronze coloured but they are gold enough for what i need.

Did manage to mae a start on some handbag charms done with ribbons ........good way of using up odd bits of ribbon but seemed to take me an age to sort them all out. Must sort out a separate box for 'oddments':)

susan -you like me and tell yourself every year you'll be more organised and it lasts about a week ?............lol:rotfl:I've got that many boxes with 'stuff' in............now.....there's a good use for my gravy tubs..................:j

For my pots of gold the other year I just used empty kitchen jars -with a gold lid if poss. if not some sort of fabric (cream would be ok) -filled them with sweets wrapped in gold paper and tied gold ribbon round it. Good way of re-using old jars and cheaper than buying them.

Mary you`re a star, what a good idea....(as i go off to find some jars) I never thought of that and I`ve got some gold crepe paper here i been wondering what to do with it....

Once I get some jars I`m doing exactly that, that saves me looking for containers, I been looking since xmas mind....lol

  • Hi all

Just wondered if anyone knew where I could buy some cheap wooden napkin rings. They don't have to be finished as I want to decoupage and varnish, but I can only find odd sets on eBay and others are well finished and relatively expensive. Has anyone come across any?
