nunnygirl - best of luck............I might be tempted but mums jar of buttons is depleted somewhat since I've been making button necklaces and bracelets.............:rotfl:
I'm left with the more 'boring ones' and not sure what I can do with them.
I found this whilst bloghopping today at craftaholics anonymous blog :rotfl: and thought of you Mary. It's a bracelet thats made with buttons that are hidden in fabric!:
All you need is some fabric, elastic and a glue gun. Perfect for hiding your 'boring buttons'.

            Hi all
Right I think I have finalised my list of things to be made / done/ brought for Xmas for the family.
I have decided that I am not buying for Owen's family this year - he can do his own shopping or give me the money to do his family's but I'll make a list like i do every year so he just has to pick something off the list for them all and then find it.
 So in total I have
10 family members to buy for. (not including Owen, Ben or baby)
3 to get/make token gifts for.
4 teachers to make gifts for.
So here is what I have so far.
 My Dad
 calendar, grandchildren survival kit.
 Step mum
comfort hamper. ---- pyjamas, comfy socks, bottle of plonk, nice box of chocolates, nice smellies (ethol austin stuff),
 Step sister
comfort hamper. ---- pyjamas, comfy socks, bottle of plonk, nice box of chocolates, nice smellies (ethol austin stuff), girly film.
 My Mum
 calendar, another gift needed though!
 My sister
comfort hamper. ---- pyjamas, comfy socks, bottle of plonk, nice box of chocolates, nice smellies (ethol austin stuff), girly film.
 Nan 1
decorated calendar, coordinating decorated diary, mug, fruit teas, sweeties made by benjamin, nightie
 Grandad 1
pyjamas, mug, hot chocolate, home-made biscuits by benjamin,
 Nan and Grandad 2
 (token gift) calendar
 Cousin 1
(token gift) sweetie tool box and £5
 Cousin 2
(token gift) sweetie tool box and £5
 Bens 4 teachers
 Mrs Bailey
 Mrs Freeman Jones
 Mrs Hopkins
 Mrs Wellington
have seen some nice boxes I want to make and figure ill fill them with either peppermint creams or tablet.
The only people Im stuck on so far are
My step brother - 16 in September, likes video games, works in a bakery part time, hes a good kid.
Niece 1 - will be 5 in november - likes high school musical, disney princeses etc - will elave until nearer the time.
Niece 2 - will be 3 in September - lives with her dad now so homemade gifts are a no go as they are apparently 'cheap and tacky' so needs to be shop brought.
glad I've finally managed to narrow a list down though and then I just have Owen and the kids to focus on. Not going to be getting baby much as she'll only be about 6 months old come Christmas so a few cheapy bits and pieces will keep her happy.
Boyfriend - I have no idea - he tends to tell me things about a week before Xmas so will have to try and find some bits for him. Probably motorbike / car/ Volkswagon related though. Wondering though if I could find something to make him.
Ben is fairly easy going - but have been told that as long as his Christmas friend leaves a Christmas eve hamper he will be excited. :TTime to find me again0

Thansk hun - need to be organised this year as I'll have an extra little one to buy for soon to add to my Christmas list! Although hoping to make a few bits this year for her and her brother so should be nice for them both to have home made things from mummy. Im thinking a no sew fleece blanket with their initial stitched in the corner for them each.
I found this list on line so figure ill adapt it to things suitable for my dad.
 Grandparents Survival Kit
Safety pin - To remind you to keep safe.
Lifesavers - Because grandparents can be "lifesavers".
Marbles - For the ones your about to loose.
Matchsticks - to help keep your eyes open.
Pencil - To write down your memories to share with the grandkids
Tissue - For cleaning up little messes
Candle - To remind you that youre the light in your grandkids eyes.
Mint - Always remember you are worth a mint.
Sugar Cube - For that extra burst of energy.
Heat Rub - For when the grandkids get a little rough.
Peg - A must for changing nappies.
Nappy Bag - This will always come in handy.
Panadol - You're going to need it.
Extra money - Spoiling kids can be expensive.
 Sunglasses- For discreet nanny naps.
Extra eyes - You will need eyes in the back of your head.
Radox bubble bath - to help aid recovery after a visit
A bottle of old farts beer/wine - for those quiet moments once they've gone home.
With the tablet ive been told if its made in the microwave then there's a better chance of it working but I really like doing it on the stove better as I can properly see what Im doing so ill be making it that way i think. Like I said its trial and error though so if tablet doesn't work then I will make peppermint creams instead because they seem easier.Time to find me again0

Hi all...I've been sick with a kidney infection, but am nearly better and off back to work tomorrow. I need to have a good catch up through here and see what's going on! Goyt to say though, I love Kevin's shave soap sets!
I have been a little crafty today. I've been doing some more mosaicing on a box for my sister's birthday present and I started knitting a very fluffy scarf for her Christmas present. I'm really proud of it actually - I'm only about 10cms in, but it looks fab already! Fingers crossed I can keep it up...I have decided some presents now though so am going to post them here to keep me organised.
Mum: Knitted scarf. I'm also going to collect as many crosswords and sudoku puzzles from papers and magazines as possible and put in a nice notebook for her - she works in a takeaway and likes to do puzzles when she's bored. She'll also get a homemade Christmas pudding. Her birthday is a couple of weeks before, so she'll get a book to read and some homemade bath salts to relax. I hope she likes that.
Sister: Knitted scarf, wrapped round a mug, with a sachet of hot chocolate inside - because she's always cold in the winter! Depending on how the knitting is going, she may get some leg warmers.
Boyfriend: No idea. I'm knitting him a scarf, but it's belated Valentine's pressie.
Gran: Home made Christmas pud - I don't see much of her, so will go in with rest of family.
Best friend: He'll get a Christmas pud and a scarf.
There's a few more people, but am planning on making a lot of bath salts, for the people I would give a 'token' gesture to.0

I have just posted this on the sewing thread but thought it might be some use here too, Mary-op - re the mobile phone covers~ I posted this on my blog but should also put it here, I made an ipod/phone cover from a tutorial on Sew Christine's Blog (she is super talented - have a look at my blog and link through to hers, it's brill!), it was so easy to make and you only need scraps of material really: You can stand there and agonize........ You can stand there and agonize........

Like the cover you made for yourself............:T
I did see somewhere (kept the image but not website:() of a phone/ipod sock...............handy when you're not sure of the phone sizes...........my grandkids change there's so often I loose track how big they are............lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
