I love these - have three pairs of things in this style (one fake fur/suedy that my mum bought me) and two stripey pairs bought with matching scarves in Tesco. For someone like me who hates the feeling of wool gloves on her finger tips (especially wet wool) and not being able to get at things - in addition to the million and one satsumas you're asked to start off peeling while on yard duty - they're an awesome idea.

I can't knit though - mum could never teach me easily since I'm right handed and she's a leftie.

I want to recycle a jumper I've got and never worn using the sleeves as wrist warmers...........whats the best way to stop the edge fraying ?
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi Mary

if the jumper is pure wool you could put it in the washing machine to felt it (i.e. shrink it) then you can cut whatever you like from it and just like felt it will not fray!

Not sure its pure wool..........have to check on that. But have got another one that went all thick in the wash -was going to do leg warmers with the sleeves on that but could try wrist warmers instead.
    Thanks :j

You could use the body to make a cosy cushion cover or hot water bottle cover!

Thanks...........the one I already have thats washed and come up thick I was going to have a go at doing a bag of some sort ............don't have a sewing machine so could blanket stitch it I thought.
The other one-the body part is suedette.............could do something with it............probably mobile phone cover, something like that. It's a sort of petrol blue and plain.

Some more lovely items on here! Love the idea of wristwarmers and those crochet squares are really nice too. I keep trying to knit washcloths and dishcloths but I still cant get it!

Just popped on quickly to show you all my new shaving soaps. Made today, they still need to cure for a couple of weeks or so before we will really know how well they perform but so far I am very happy with them.

I added castor to my basic recipe to increase the stability and thickness of the lather and rhassoul clay to enhance razor slip. My initial tests suggest it works really well with the shaving brush... Half are fragranced with Bay Rum and half with Spearmint and Peppermint EOs - I love them both!

The shells are freshly fished from the coast of the West Country, not imported.

And a couple of Hipstamatic photos of these too... (Can you tell I love this app?!?!)

mary-op Thanks for sending me that back - i think it worked for me too. I made 3 cards yesterday and got all the stuff ready to make another 3.

Kevie192 I tried to look at your blog but I don't think the link is working properly.
