susan - thanks -specs case would be a good idea but I haven't got a nice one, just the usual opticians ones:(

beach hut - that cover looks nice and could be adapted...........having spent all morning making one and now I'm not happy with it:mad: Shame as it was lovely material that I'd got loads of but it does fray a bit too much. All my felt is a bit too christmassy (red/green/white). Might have another go tomorrow.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Someone mentioned covering notebooks a while back. I've just uploaded a post here where I have covered one in woven ribbons. Very easy to do and I really like the end result :o:)

We're starting about 4 so maybe I should start everyone off with a mock cocktail :)) Leave the wine till at least 5 :) Liking the pottery party idea x

The pottery party I went to (with the wine, mentioned above) was at one of those specialist pottery party shops. They fire the pottery after for fixing.

For your own party you could get some simple white porcelain mugs (M&S sell some cheap good ones) and some porcelain paints or pens. I think you can fix that type in your domestic oven.

  • Whoopido - love the notebook, have commented on your blog. I also liked your card, but think I might have forgotton to comment on that!

Hazybabe - love your Santa he is inspired!!

Just having a quick skim through, some more fab ideas - thanks to everyone that's posted.

I've posted my latest make on my blog, might be useful for those of you who make Snowman Soup. I used the idea at Christmas for Emergency Undies too (but never thought to take a picture).

I painted some plates, about 10 years ago with Pebeo 150 porcelaine plates. I did holly leaves and red berries around the edge. Then baked in the oven for 35 mins. We use them every December for the whole month, I painted 18 so plenty of them, and they are always washed in the dishwasher. They still look as good as when I did them. I also painted 18 bowls with the same design, boy did I get fed up od painting holly and berries but they are fab.

I managed to make some men gifts ready for my christmas hampers, which have a top gear theme this year. :D

My friend asked me to make some for her, and they all taxi drivers so I thought Top gear would be ideal, so far I have notebook, shower gel here and some mugs with a car on from Vista Print, (you only have to pay for postage) And you can order 4 free things at once:T
