A lovely day here so far. Unfortunately my parents had to go home just after 3pm as my Mum's pancreatitis has flared up and she couldn't eat any lunch at all. They came for a few hours though & it was really lovely to spend time with them :A

I am another whose kids were awake early (5.05am) so think we'll all be in bed early tonight.

I got some lovely presents including a Golden Syrup cook book, a burger cook book and How To Feed Your Family A Balanced Diet .......... etc by Jill Holcombe :T I also got some lovely bath things so will have a long soak tomorrow, and some new boots and fluffy slippers :D

Hope that everyone is having a nice day.

Evening folks..........lunch was a great sucess, I ended up with 2 extra visitors, although they did bring their dinner with them.

DD1 and husband were here for lunch. I was just about to put the vegetables on when DGD phoned, she and boyfriend had gone to his sisters, apparently BF and sister had a row, so he walked out with his dinner, they came to us......6 of us........I flamed the christmas pudding, DGD's BF was fascinated, he had never seen it done before.......DGD said 'well my Nana has very high standards, she does everything properly' I could not help smiling......they went off straight after lunch, they were going on to some other friends, SIL went to sleep on the settee whilst OH, DD1 and I did the washing up. We enjoyed a cuppa and a chat before they went off home DD1 is working tomorrow SIL playiing golf.

I am esconced on the settee with a box of chocolates and a glass of well deserved wine and its where I am staying. OH can fend for himself for the rest of the day.

Lots of nice pressies........including an indoor gardening set and hand cream, a book, some pretty china plates, biscuits and a piece of stilton cheese which will go down nicely with a drink and some biscuits for my supper.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

I understand how you feel, I hate imposing myself on people. My cousin always asks me every year for christmas day and I always refuse. I don't have a car so it would mean someone picking me up and bringing me home again and they would not be able to drink.

Also to be honest I prefer it on my own, I saved on washing today by not getting dressed.:rotfl:

Dinner was a little later than anticipated because I was so warm and snuggly on the sofa under my blanket I nodded off about 8.30 am (in mitigation I have been awake since 5.30 am) and didn't wake up again till 10.30 am.:o

It was very nice though, a lovely piece of silverside and have just had an open sandwich of cold beef and coleslaw. Looking forward to the bubble and squeak tomorrow.

Am now eying up a box of Heroes and sipping a glass of lemonade which is making me burp, that was probably TMI.:o
Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

apologises for spelling mistakes - google toolbar and I have had a hissy fit and I've lost me spell checker.

My mum and dad aren't an imposition lol! I didn't mean my comment to come across the way it has. We had a lovely day with them but me and OH are just so tired-well me more than him because I've been cooking all day. I was yearning to get in the bath, put my trackies on and get my house back in order.

I've got my second wind a bit now. A goose carcase is so big I couldn't face trying to squeeze it into the fridge so I decided to make it into stock this afternoon rather than wait till tomorrow. I boiled it up for a couple of hours and strained all the stock, then I covered it in more water and did it all again. I must be mad, but I now have about 13 pints of goose stock cooling ready to go in the freezer along with the 7 pints of ham stock from yesterday. Feeling smug :D

Enjoy your chocs and lemonade Woofles!
