  • I normally receive everything with online sale orders, but the dates/dispatch notices seem a little strange on the current orders I have. But I'll wait and see.

All 3 of my orders have been dispatched. This is the first M&S sale that I will have received everything I ordered. Their stock control has improved greatly. :T I found I did a clothes order for me , an order for bedding towels curtains and an order for all the other bits like crackers and stuff for next year that I wasn't too bothered about. Last time I mixed bedding with clothes and received nothing as all were out of stock.

Just on the phone to M&S. Looks like you were right about M&S. Only two of my items were due to be sent out - non sale stuff! They are now transferring me to customer services but I suppose if the stock is gone there's nothing much they can do.

They could sort out their systems. This is not the first time, and this has happened to dozens of us, no matter how many people post 'I always get everything I order'.

Mines still showing as not yet despatched :o:o I only chose a few items and they were all 10+ items in stock too. I'll be really disappointed if I don't get them as I gave the Next sale a miss this year as I'd ordered work trousers from M&S instead :o

Well done grunnie! I too attempted to fool them with logic this time, and ordered only baby clothes showing stock of 10 plus. I told my daughter she didn't need to fight her way into the store with her twins, so now we have missed out altogether.
I think I'll try to find the energy to write to someone more senior than CS.
  • I too need to write to Customer Services but I really don't know what good it will do me. What really annoys me is that some of the items that they say are out of stock are still available online. I'm told that some of the items may come back into stock but I'm not holding my breath. All I have been offered is free delivery as compensation!
  • I think I may be the same. I have placed three orders in total. Two on Christmas Eve night and one late morning on Christmas day.

The second order I placed on Christmas Eve has been despatched, the third order is showing as despatching soon, but the first order is just showing as 'Items not yet despatched' and I can go into it to cancel items. So I am now doubting whether I will receive any of it.

The first order did include a pair of pjs that was showing as less than 10 in stock, but it also has a couple of items that were still showing as in stock on Christmas morning, so I don't understand why there is a hold up with it.

I had the same issue the year before last and they admitted that they had messed up and gave me a £25 online credit. If an item is out of stock why do they let it effect the whole order? Anywhere else lets you know they are out of stock and sends the rest of your order. Why does Marks let it mess up the whole order?!
  • I ordered on 24 December 2009 23:27:31.
I had a confirmation email at that time.
I was only given an option of nominated delivery day so I chose the earliest.
I had just the confirmation email and would email me when the items were to be despatched.
I have just spoken to customer services who have just informed me that out of my 14 items that I ordered, that only 2 are in stock.
I have cancelled the order as P and P was nearly half of the value of the order.
This is a load of B*****S! I am really angry that such a big company cannot get their communication in order nor their ordering IT system.
Cmon Marks and Spencer...have a little decency and inform customers!
  • I think that's exactly what happened to me. One item went out of stock so the whole order was stopped and now when I am chasing it up there's nothing left! I will persue them for a bit more than free delivery if you have done better previously.

This is my 4th completely wrecked order. Customer Services have a 'what can we do?' approach, so I have just written to the CEO (well I'd only be making turkey soup otherwise). I'll let you know if/when I hear anything.
