What a waste: M&S

I've worked for M&S and our store didnt hold anything back.Staff waste sale is an eagerly anticipated event on Christmas Eve. Especially for those staff who are working til 7 or 8 o'clock at night to have the sale ready to go on 27th. I think they probably specifically hold more back on this date to reward the staff. On any normal day most of the waste goes to customers before the end of the day.
Have to add Tescos last night at 5.30 had loads of £5, £7 and £10 flower bunches not reduced.. are they hoping to sell them day after Boxing Day when they re open??

I am with this poster. NO way could you get £1000 worth in one trolley!!!!£1000 worth of food, in one trolley?
We had 2 trolleys filled to the brim, and that was £267 (don't ask!)
No way James, you're having us on LOL!!!
(You could always scan the receipt to prove to us doubters, I'm sure we would be able to work out the original prices

Years ago they used to give them to local charity but it got stopped, I think due to H&S reasons or at least that was the case with the one nearest to me.
Nope. M&S still give articulated lorry loads of food away to a charity that packs it up and gives it in food parcels. I see the trucks every day when I am walking to work as they are in the same complex as my charity.
Lemme have a look.

There you go. M&S give tones of stuff to that place. So, yes, you might not have gotten a platter of sandwiches at 50% off but someone in food poverty probably did get to enjoy them.
