I was told no because someone had made a mistake with the order and not put it on the 'to be reduced list'. So I asked what was going to happen to the platters: they were going to be thrown out.
There were several items with expiry dates of 24 December reduced by only a pound. They obviously weren't going to shift. I was told again, they would be binned.
What a waste of food.
Staff waste sale is an eagerly anticipated event on Christmas Eve. Especially for those staff who are working til 7 or 8 o'clock at night to have the sale ready to go on 27th. I think they probably specifically hold more back on this date to reward the staff. On any normal day most of the waste goes to customers before the end of the day.If you can’t beat your computer at chess, try kickboxing.:rotfl:0 -
Yes, this is correct. When I worked there last Christmas, the Christmas Eve sell off was a very big deal! At the end of the day, everybody lines up with their trolley and gets ready to go dashing about getting what they want!Staff waste sale is an eagerly anticipated event on Christmas Eve.
