NOT very happy with Lakeland personally

Ordered over £50 worth of stuff early on Boxing Day, EVERYTHING "IN STOCK" , got confirmation email no problems.

About half the order was for 4 items I REALLY WANTED - the other half a few bits and bobs (that'll make nice gifts sort of thing) - more to make up the £50 for free delivery than anything else.

Not heard a thing since - no phone call, no email, no hint of delivery - checked order online and it still says "New Order".

A little concerned that when you click on some items on the order it takes you to an entirely different product from that listed & purchased.

So I decided to phone to see what the score was - apparently it has been "PICKED" but yet to be scheduled for delivery.

I queried the "odd" thing about items linking through to different products.
Some comment about these items being OUT OF STOCK.

And despite the fact that my order has been "Picked" - Guess what - the half of the order that I REALLY WANTED - were ALL OUT OF STOCK when I placed the order (5 days ago) and I'M GETTING NONE OF THEM

My "Picked" order is only the other "bits and bobs" that happened to be actually & REALLY in stock when I placed the order.

SO BEWARE - you might not be getting all you expect !!!

Their excuse was that the website had had some problems and they didn't expect the amount of traffic generated by their "sale prices" or some such waffle - apparently it was double what they got last year.

  • I've been let down by Lakeland as well. Won't be using them again. Very poor.
  • I received my Boxing Day order brilliantly packed (as usual) today.

I have never been disappointed by their service. It might be worth you letting customer services know that you have been disappointed with them as I think they pride themselves on their excellent service.

Many of us ordered jelly belly beans and have had our orders cancelled. Its a shame as Ive never used them before and am very unlikely to use them again!

My order hasnt been cancelled, but as it is still showing as a new order, I presume it is just a matter of time, bearing in mind some people ordered 4 days before me!

I know it was Christmas, but dont companies have either a website that can function or staff to update the stock levels. If not they should not be n buy from them if they are not "open"!

They look like a very unprofessional company.

Mind you having said that Debenhams always - ok regularly! - sends emails, after orders stating item oos!!

I ordered a lot of stuff from Lakeland myself yesterday and, like you, added some extras to get the order up to £50 for free postage. I've just looked at their website and a lot of the things on my order are now showing out of stock (on the sales bit of the site, not on my order.) Of course these are the things that I really want.

I'm going to ring them tomorrow to check that I am going to receive these items. If not I can get them at other sales and I will cancel the whole order. They do seem to be very good for returns but I don't want them to let me down at the last minute.

So thanks for the word of warning.
  • I must of been lucky - I ordered on Xmas Eve and my parcel arrived today with everything I ordered :j So pleased as had my eye on 2 of the things for ages and managed to get them half price

I'm really surprised as I've used this company many times & they pride themselves on their customer service. I can only suggest that you give them a ring & say how disappointed you are.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
  • I placed an order online and really wanted the porto sippers for a gift for someone. However, despite being in stock online, the parcel arrived this morning without these. I don't live anywhere near a store so I can't get any there.

Just on the off chance that anyone is returning some of the porto sippers, or if anyone sees them in store, I would be happy to buy them from you and pay for the postage via Paypal - just pm me - thanks!
