Had a lovley catch up. Scared about money though so used my Visa to buy my round. Not good. Have cut it up now though and this is the first time I've put anything on it in ages! (And it was only a £5). Also bought a few bits in Aldi so that should do, unless I go through to Edinburgh using my free train ticket on my day off for the galleries and then I will need to buy a cheapo lunch somewhere.

Hey all, WONT be going through to edinburgh on my day off as it's f******* freezing through there. Had a nice day at the shop though and took a nice healthy lunch so have only bought a 39p loaf today which i have dutifully split up and frozen. Did a meal plan on the train. Should be slightly inder a tenner for next week and this includes a fancy pizza, bit of lamb/pork, sausages and there will be enough left to freeze some mash and have 2 portions more of saus cass in the month! I could get really into this challenge!!! Only doing it this month as an experiment but I fully expect it to help me to slash my food budget so I can spend the extra on a spray tan for the reopening of the shop/a frock/ a night out. Priorities eh!

Had a bit of a carp day at the shop today and had the rage earlier so I bought crisps (huge Doritos ones at 1000 cals) but apart from that only spent £1 on loads of Sainsburys oatcakes for next week at work. Looking at making my own pizza to slash food budget further. Having a down day re money today as have realised I can't do everything I want all the time ie pay off cards, buy clothes for work (not a choice as ALL retailers want you in current stock), pay for my holiday and have a life so need to budget really carefully to try to cover all bases. Am away to number crunch and come back with another plan! X

    Haha...yes that's what I normally do aswell!

It's weird that you mention having a down day as I was reading your diary earlier and thinking 'this woman's always so positive, is she even human?' lol Not that I like you to feel down but goes to show you are human afterall, but you have a great outlook on life and I love your posts.

Hopefully you've number crunched or had a good kip and wake up feeling better tomorrow about the whole money situation. Remember once you've got the cards paid off you'll be able to do alot more of what you want.

Hope you have a good day at work tomorrow :)

P.S A friend said she was glad when I cried in front of her a while ago as it showed her I was human. There must be a lot of miserable folk about is all I can say!

    Hi all,

Payday tomorrow :jso here's what I spent on Feb:

Food over and above what came with my online order (about £41 worth) £35.08
Haircut £37 (I know but city centre prices and it really did need it)
    Drink in the house £8.48
Drinks out £77.88  but :eek::eek:
    Household £14.34

    Medicine for UTI/cystitis £14.34

    Lunch and tea out £16.34

    Travelling about the city £11.85

Misc ie tights, postage, passport photos for train pass £15.11

A grand total of £230.42 on 'living'. Need to cut the booze budget back a bit me thinks and stop buying random snacks and I could do more debt busting.

Still not really got a plan for how I will achieve my goals this year. Holiday bit will be fine. I give my mum £70 a month for that which is how much extra I make in my new job compared to my old one but the rest is a bit hazy. Will look at it all at the weekend but in the meantime this should be a cheap week as will be working most of it getting the shop ready (apart from the weekend off bit). Done my meal plan for the week and will shop for that tomorrow/Friday at Aldi.

Had 79p left this month :j(but not really as spent £5.38 on Visa). I'm overjoyed with this as last year I always had to borrow off my mate and payback and be short.

Right better get some shut eye as will be up early to check wages and do some shifting about. Roll on tomorrow!!!

I think that looks like a good month really. Next month you'll not have hairdressers expense and hopefully not medicine either. I also think £77 on drinks out isn't too bad when you like to go out, I know alot of people that could spend that in one weekend! If you think you could cut if down though then that's even better. Do you have enough left over to make overpayments?

I love payday and all the shifting about...enjoy!

Overpayments ...that's what I need to look at. Done my budget and as well as the holiday money I have paid off a storecard and got £41 left for clothes for work (Not optional as NEED to buy something new for the reopen but it may come to slightly less than this), £40 a week left for spends/living/fun, £8 for essential toiletries and £30 for whatever. Really want to go to see Les Mis (in May so need to book soon) and could do that with this cash but would be great to use it for debt payment. Had mentioned Les Mis to a friend too and would be fab to go. Think I'll go and look at maybe taking something from fun money for debt. Just ranting to myself now!

Hey Souk, your budget for Feb sounds pretty good really!

Good luck with the number crunching.

I'm totally with you with the  at medicine costs. I don't know what medicine you were using for Cystitis but I used to use those sachets which were quite dear. However my Mum told me that Bicarbonate of Soda is the main thing in those sachets and I've used it in the past and it totally tastes the same and works just as well. And is a ton cheaper. Obv doesn't have fancy flavourings but I just added a bit of squash to make it taste better!!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)
