!
Got a grab bag last week from lakeside which I wasn't too impressed with after reading about the great bags a lot of ppl have been posting about, it had 6/7 ballistics and a tiny ambrosia (sp?) shaving cream. I'm not convinced it's worth £20 though looking at the prices. I do need to buy a birthday present so I might go down to bluewater tonight. I'd love a nice grab bag, maybe with some bubble bars in...No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

Hi everyone!
I have not bought much from Lush in the past - but got a grab bag last time after reading about them on here and ot converted my daughter and I! However, I only really buy things from there for a treat because I don't get into town very often. Today my local Lush was offering a free Xmas gift box (you could pick whichever one and some of them were priced up at £19.95) or a grab bag (she showed me the contents of one but it didn't look too impressive) if you spent £20. I was thinking of buying a gift set as a pressie for someone and then getting one of the Xmas gift sets for my daughter and I to use now. The only person in my family though that would appreciate a gift set doesn't have a birthday till May - how long does the stuff stay fresh for? Would it be Ok to put away till then?
Thanks! I shoulod have asked the assistant but she was a bit of a scary sales lady!

Definitely will do if I go tonight. I want to go to Bluewater, but my sis wants me to take her to Costco tonight. I'm trying to delay the Costco trip to tomorrow (was meant to take her yesterday). No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

I'm just back from Lush in Oxford city centre. They still have a lot of gift boxes, the biggest being Candy Cane which is very girly- has some snow fairy & yummy yummy yummy shower gels, a fairy tail scrub, and angels delight soap- all very sickly sweet smells- and worth £16.50.
They still have lucky dip bags left. I spent £40 and got 2 lucky dip bags. They were identical and each contained:
Snow fairy shower gel 250ml
Snow fairy solid perfume
Xmas party ballistic
So White ballistic
Mr Butteball ballistic
Ruby Red Slippers bubble bar
Candy cane bubble bar
This comes to about £24, and I was very relieved to escape getting any Father Frost soap! They have got *loads* of snow fairy left though so it looks pretty likely that all of the bags will contain some! Hope that helpsbutterfly2001 wrote: »Anyone know what the oxford one had?0 -
The sales assistants have told me that bubble bars will keep for up to 1 year, however they are best fresh. The smell fades over time, and old bubble bars do not give as good results as fresh ones. It is the same with the ballistics, as they lose their fizz and their scent. Individual products should be taken out of the yellow bags and wrapped in cling film/air tight sandwich bags as the yellow bags absorb the oils from the products.
Personally I have found that bath products will stay fresh for at least 6 months before beginning to lose their smell.
I would think the products would be fine by May, as long as they are used fairly quickly after then. It is also worth knowing that the date the individual products were made in gift boxes is on a sticky label on the bottom of the box.
If it was me, I would be very happy to receive it and I'm sure you and your daughter would enjoy using the freebiesHi everyone!
