I was reading a post about someone not using last year's soap (sorry, I've forgotten who posted..)

I'm the same and wondered what else I could do with the soap as we're just not getting through it fast enough! Argh!

For some reason, I have it in my head that you can put bits of soap in your toilet cystern to give a nice fragrance to the water in the bowl.

Sure I saw it on How Clean Is Your House, or summat!

Please do not sue me for plumbers fees if it all goes wrong!:rotfl:
  • I ordered from the Lush website on 29th dec, and still don't have my order!!!! Not impressed really... its now 7th jan and still says pending on status! they seem to have the speed of a slug! does it normally take so long to receive your order does anyone know please!?
    dying to receive my stuff!

got my mum going into the leicester store today with a list to buy for me - stuff for my daughters birthday.... she getting me a grab bag (she poked her head in shop the other day and they told her it was on till 17th Jan if anyone was wondering )

looking forward to seeing what i get free! :D

Shoot me for stating the obvious, but do you think the snow may have something to do with your delivery not arriving

I was in the Trafford Centre yesterday and they had quite a few boxes yesterday, but she did say deliveries aren't getting through as I wanted some Dream Cream and they had sold out.

... if I used in my laundry would I still need washing liquid or would the soap do th job? I guess it also needs to be a fairly light soap ... /QUOTE]

I wouldn't use it instead of a cleaning agent, just as a fragrance, but if you get some of those Soapnuts, which aren't fragranced, but work out a lot cheaper to use than detergent, and use them in conjunction with the soap, then that will probably work out well. You can get a free sample of them on their website (75p p&p), which should do quite a few loads. On the other hand, if it's just a lightly soiled wash (ie, just washin' away body odour) it may well work with just soap on 30 degrees.

Umm... Don't really know what you mean by 'light' soap.

hmm xmas cake soap was nice, i loved the white top of it x

i liked the let them eat cake lip balm as well, not so keen in this years father frost soap though

i also adore snowcake and angels delight, but am not the biggest fan of ruby red slippers (and have 3 of them grr)

Thanks theduchesshavoc. Sorry by light soap I meant light in colour.. The Christmas Cake soap for example last year was a really dark brown - I imagine that would stain clothes.. but Angels Delight is a light, transluscent pink so should be fine and not colour clothes?

I've thought about soap nuts before, thanks for the tip about the frebie. I was put off buying them as I didn't know what they were like for a freebie (plus P&P) would be a good way to test them!

The next question is... would I damage my Mum's blender if I grated the soap in it..? I have some fairly LARGE lumps and don't fancy spending ages grating them :o:rotfl:

If you're doing dark clothes I doubt it would make any odds, Certainly not if you're doing blacks all together. I don't think soap stains anyway, but I'm not certain so don't quote me on that one! Could test with a load of rags for cleaning bathroom etc, or similar.

Definately don't use a blender for anything hard. I frazzled one just making hummus once. You need a food processor for anything like that. However, as mentioned by jenniewb earlier, best not to shave soap all at once or it will lose it's scent. Just grate off what you need.

I bought some stuff (about £20) worth and my gift bag (lucky dip) contained loads!

A small bottle of snow fairy (*shudder* - I do hate this stuff, so I mailed it to my sister)
    A santa bath bomb
    ruby red slippers bubble bar
    A little white bath bomb
White gloop in a plastic box
A purple bath bomb with stars in it
A large white one with confetti in it
    An unidentified red bubble bar

Really happy with that - even though I don't know what half of it is :)
