Thanks to all the grown ups for your reasonable replies - took it back to Mogs and got a 4 pack of Stella in exchange, which I view as good practice by them

PS To all the WUMs who posted - you honestly need to get a life - I'm not an unreasonable person and I wasnt expecting to retire on the proceeds of returning an empty beer can to Mogs, nor to gain any major advantage out of it.
Perhaps using the word "Compensation" triggered hideous thoughts in your tiny minds, I dunno but seriously, this is supposed to be a consumer website where , amongst other things, we can exchange useful ideas/experiences of buying and selling

Glad they sorted it although I can't help thinking that if they hadn't you could have supped the remaining cans of Stella, let it kick in and really kick off :D:D

We can also give our honest and forthright opinions, which 'can ' include defending those that in your case had not been given a chance to sort things out.

The contract is between the buyer and the retailer - it has nothing at all to do with the manufacturer.

That wasn't his point If the product wasn't filled at the manufactures that isn't Morrison's fault it is the manufactures.

Now if Morrison's hadn't done something about it then the OP would have right to complain about Morrison's. Substandard product is due to manufactures fault, Substandard Customer Service is the retailers fault.
  • "BLOODY MORRISON(')S" ?

You bought a pack of lager that had an empty can.

    You took it back

You "got a 4 pack of Stella in exchange, which I view as good practice by them" (quote)

Surely this should be a WONDERFULL MORRISON'S thread?

You should offer Morrison's an apology?
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

Bought a 24 x 440ml pack of Stella from our Morrisons last night, started to unpack it into the fridge and the first can I got hold of had no bloody Stella in it ie an empty can with the ringpull firmly in place - NIGHTMARE

Going to call back into store after work today but wondered if anyone had taken stuff back and what they got in compensation for their time and effort ??

the empty can isnt morrisons fault as they dont fill the cans

Yeah, certainly will because Morrisons ignored my complaint did they and they didnt give me the pack of 4 Stella I mentioned did they, but if it gives you a hard-on or you become moist at the thought of it, here you go

I thought I would come on here for a while to get away from the kids.

    Some hope!
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Your attempted criticism of the OP has lead to epic failure. He clearly stated it was a 24-can multipack, so he couldn't possibly have known one can was empty by the weight until after he bought it. In addition, he specifically said the ring pull was still intact and made no reference to having pulled it.

    100% failure.

    "epic failure"?

F- me, how old are you? Fourteen?

pathetic, this forum at times turns into a big kiddies playground with sticks and stones being thrown, the OP had a genuine question (albeit a minor one)
At the end of the day morrisons were only obliged at the minimum level to replace the empty can, but they replaced for a four pack even better.
As morrisons were the supplier they should be the first person you contact and not the manufacturer
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
