 You only ate one slice.

I admire such will power, especially when its a home made quiche. ;)

You can add what you like once you've got the pastry and eggy mixture right. :T

Smoked salmon and brocoli, red onion and tomato, leek and bacon, the list is endless.

    The world is your quiche.;)

  • If you practise rolling your pastry very thin and do a bit of patching, I find that a 4oz flour mix of pastry will fit a largish quiche dish (just) which cuts back on the cals as well

  • Well it won't be bacon for me (veggie :)) but this does sound do-able. I can do dough so I'm hoping this won't be too much harder. My only real problem with it now is that it has butter in - I'm not buying it at the minute cos I got a new breadmaker and if I bought butter I'd eat nothing but butter and jam on bread :) and before you say have some self control, not buying the butter is the last vestige of my self control. Although if I bought it and made a big quantity to use the butter and just froze some ...hmm that might work.

The only other problem is with portion size if it is as nice as you say...but I'd have to cross that bridge when I got to it.

Mariel the rice sounds really nice to me :) but DH refuses to eat it under any circumstances so I'm afraid it's a non-starter since then I'd *have* to eat the whole thing :)

I am going to give it a try this week providing I have a flan tin, which I think I did buy a while back...
  • see i make one, but its without the pastry - i believe it was called "crazy quiche". As a veggie, i put cheese, onion, tomato and veggie ham in it :) it is veeeery yummy! Gosh can my new cooker hurry up so i can make some!!

EVERYTHING homemade is much better than bought and you get so much satisfaction from doing it. Keep it up:beer:

Lots of other Quiche Ideas here. My favourite is smoked salmon and halved cherry tomato (cut side up).

I used to make HM Quiche all the time but I haven't made one for ages, since I saw the Jamie Oliver program where he showed the wet egg stuff they use in even expensive processed quiches I am inspired to get my quiche dishes out again and give it a whirl. Thanks for the recipes and the inspiration.
