Anyone who wear stockings..
I always buy two packs at once so if one ladder I have three left of the same typw..
The laddered ones are also good for cleaning windows (no idea why..but it works!)
and also, I stuff delicate laundry in them before going in the washing machine.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Aha............well done guys!! You've just made me think of a brilliant way to weigh down my son's helium balloons at his party!! Couldn't believe the cost of those things that I just saw in a shop, like how many times are you going to use them again?
But now I'm going to save our yoghurt pots, fill with some sand or earth and then wrap them in something, and use them instead!! :THonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. If you are near a school ask and I am sure they would love your old yoghurt pots which we use for glue pots, the bags from laundry tablets are invaluable for storing small things together and empty ice cream containters work well for storage.
I recycle old textiles into - clothes for children, bags, and patchwork. Old cards are recycled into new ones, glass jars are painted, and the small ones turned into snow storms. The foil lined tetra pacs are cut off at the top and I use them to shape frozen food (in plastic bags) into neat blocks for the freezer. If I am freezing an amount of beans that I have cooked in bulk I weigh out the first one and cut the tetra pac at that level. From then on I just have to fill to that level for each one.
Now going off to try and think of other things that I regularly re-use.True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. Dollydaydream 20060 -

Do the same with tights. If one leg ladders cut it off and use 2 odd legs with 2 tops. Keeps the b*m warm in winter. I am also quite good at putting my toes through the thicker part. Will stitch the hole up, it doesn't rub and I get at least one if not more wear from them.0 -
I cut up old muesli boxes, etc, into handy "slices" for shopping lists. Better than paper and I'm less likely to lose them.0

Madmel wrote:Water from washing up or from the spin dryer (now there's another brilliant device!) gets poured down the toilet instead of flushing it. We save money, as we're on a meter, and it saves on cleaning it as the water has some detergent in it so it stops algae without needing lots of nasty chemicals.
We also use rainwater for flushing the loo and halved our water bill!
how do you manage to transfer the waste water from the washing machine into the cystern?0
