Lamewolf - love the poem, very apt :rotfl: Glad you enjoyed Solstice - hmmmm drinking sea breezes whilst watching the sunrise sounds pretty good to me :D

I went past Sainsbury's on the way to Boots - my word I thought it was busy on Monday when we went but I am sooooo glad we did as it was manic - nothing but cars queuing up and down the bays waiting for a parking space  I dread to think what it was actually like inside the store!

bought a large frozen chicken on Monday and it's now defrosted so will bung that in the oven in a sec. Have done a bit of cleaning (but really can't be @rsed to go mad :o).

DS decided that since he couldn't make a snowman from the white stuff outside he'd improvise instead. Using two bins that were on the stairs waiting to be taken back up he stood one on top of the other and went and got his scarf to wrap round telling me he was making a snowman. Added his hat and then started asking me for some eyes, mouth, ears (told him snowmen don't have those), nose, arms and feet which I thoughtfully provided :rotfl: Below is the results - rather stunning if I do say so myself

    4208366083_633bd1ebfa_m.jpg

OK his nose makes him look like a penguin but it was the best I could do in short notice with paper and blu tack :rotfl: Is that OS playing or what?!!!

Need to go and make some butter icing for this non rolling swiss roll.

    Have a good evening everyone.

PS. am getting just a wee bit excited about it being nearly Christmas - reading about all your preparations is getting me in the mood :T

Just arrived back home after setting off at 12 noon.

Queues and queues of traffic on way in to Doncaster, so picked up DD at train station, the DH decided to pull in at the Morrisons there for some shopping:eek:

The place was heaving with people and check out queues were over a dozen trolleys deep . DH almost had a fit at the total bill but it was all stuff he had put in the trolley;) and will feed the six of us for well over a week.

DD has not seen me for seven weeks and that was the week when I was in hospital so she really noticed I had lost weight.

Shopping is now all put away so I had a healthy sandwich then fruit and low fat yoghurt and have gone to put my feet up for an hour

    Afternoon all

Yes I am still here - operation cancelled half way through the morning again due to lack of high dependancy beds. They are going to ring me tomorrow to reschedule - after christmas now thank goodness. I think I am kind of relieved as it was getting too close for comfort and really didn't want to be in hospital on christmas day.

So took DD1 and DD2 out to lunch so we could finally relax and get in christmas spirit and 3 LARGE glasses of wine later I feel much better:D:D:D

Diva - great to see you posting - we really missed you!

Sorry although I have read the rest of the thread, due to the alcohol can't remember who said what so just ((((Hugs)))) to all:D

    Afternoon all,

Had a really busy day, I spent most of the morning on the phone to different utility company etc, informing them of the move date, got our new phone number, arranged insurance on the new house, and life insurance, still a bit to do, but have done a great deal :T

This afternoon I made a huge brocoli and cauli cheese, with stilton and brie, and a drop of wine and wholegrain mustard in the sauce, this will do as one of the veggies on xmas day, tomorrow I will do the leeks, and sprouts, I have home grown carrots in my freezer which will just need steaming :T

I then made some pastry for sausage rolls, prepared the sausage meat and guess what ?????? no rolling pin, its packed in one of the may boxes ready for the move , so i improvised and used a wine bottle instead :D:beer:, sausage rolls came out great, I also made a dozen veggie ones for dd.

HM pizza is in the oven, and may have a glass of wine tonight :D. Have good evnings all, not long now :j:j:j:j

    Bitsy, loving the snowman :D

this is my first ever post in the "dailies" so hope you don't mind me saying hi. I think I am actually getting addicted to this website, as I have said in some other threads I was meant to be going home to my mum sunday - xmas eve but due to snow I missed my flight so have been feeling a little lost! But feeling much more normal today and cleaning entire kitchen last night made me realise i have been given the gift of more time!!!

Also I don't feel like I got up too early now seeing the times on your threads!!! Every day I struggle to get out of bed for work at 8.15 (I am 26 but sound about 16!) but over last few days I wake at 7.00 on the dot and start thinking about what i need to do....typical. Today's plan:

    1. [STRIKE]Get turkey leg out of freezer (yes it is a tesco value £1.47 one, it is just the two of us and tesco were sold out of the £5 frozen joint at the time)[/STRIKE] done. replace with - eat a nice hot breakfast. I am in xmas mode already. Been up since 7 and so far consumed only quality street!:rotfl:
    2. Do lots of washing and drying - I want to see the bottom of the washing basket by tomorrow!
    3. Tidy up living room etc make it more xmassy - as I was meant to be leaving on Sun me and OH just stuck up xmas tree and left everything in a bit of a mess.
    4. Wait in for parcels (luckily live just out of city centre and deliveries not been that affected by snow)
    5. Go xmas shopping for OH gifts (was meant to be doing this with my mum!)
    6. Wrap tonight while he is at work and bake some cookies.

I hope you all have a lovely day, I am sure I will be on here most of the day!!!!

Well I have done 1. some of 2. 4. and 5. I am completely slapping my head here:confused: can't find an icon for it LOL as I forgot the most important bit BUY CHAIRS TO SIT ON ON CHRISTMAS DAY!!!! Hope everyone has had a successful day :o
