There is no difference in the pronunciation of flower and flour either, no matter what any of you say :p
I've never thought they were different.

Noo i meant cos they're from N.East and say it luke not luck :D
I think generally, the further north in the north east you go, the more likely people are to rhyme book/cook/look with luke but it is probably variable due to people moving around and what their parents say. Moving from Teeside to Newcastle also generally changes from can't to cannot and Mum to Mam.

When i got with the ex he used to take the pee out of me all the time, for example - car, he'd say it more like cor, i'd say caa  He said i was common, eh no i'm just northern. Muppet
When people called me northern they generally meant it as a synonym for working class. I think they thought the north east was all like Billy Elliot or The Full Monty.

good news! I looked at the ofsted report for the school we want the boys to go to and it scores almost the same as our local CofE so wouldn't be 'too' bad if we had to send him to our local based purely on the reports :)
The best way to find out what a school is like is to visit it for a tour. In my experience as a supply teacher, Ofsted reports were [STRIKE]pure fiction [/STRIKE]not very accurate.

I'm very inclined to write snottily and say, the reason you think I'm 2 stone heavier than I should be is that I am 31 weeks pregnant, but your form did not take account of this!
:rotfl: You totally should - I would.

I asked if he liked it. He said yes very much but he thought it was just his starter! :rotfl:
My OH often says, "That was a good starter." after dinner.

Sami their dead easy if you use fluffy socks, their very forgiving for bad stitching! I made loads and donated them to my nanas care home and gave everyone them for xmas too.

Jillie it is a small world, Ive only been to Bray once when I was 21. My mum hadnt been for 25 years but as we were walking around someone stopped her and said 'your a 'nanas surname' arent you? Well X lives there, Y lives there etc' and by the time we'd walked the 5 mins to her uncles (who didnt know we were coming) he had the kettle on ready for us and had rang his daughters to come round!

Gisi - I got some babylegs from TK maxx, £3.99 for two pairs and they had boys ones with trucks on too.
    Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j
  • Feely - I was only saying to hubby last night that we needed some baby bicycle clips to keep the legs of his sleepsuit in the right place whilst he is crawling about! Maybe some elastic bands would do the trick?

I got some ITNG stuff for Benjamins birthday from Boots (gave up on online and went into town instead) and some lovely necklaces reduced from £12 to £2 or £3.

Also bought some shoes for me in Clarks - originally £49.99 reduced to £14.99 - they had some lovely little girl boots in at big reductions too. They had baby boy shoes too but no point on guessing at foot width!!

My sis was born at whiston

    So was I :)
Feelie - your posts about feeding have helped me immensely (sp?) even if they havent been directly to me Ive remembered tips when Ive been struggling. Im not sure about mei tai's facing outwards, I only got mine yesterday and because Isla's still in cuddle hold all the time in her stretchy wrap.

SS - what does your friends baby weigh? I had Isla in hers at 2 days old, she weighed 7lb 6oz at birth. She's loved it from then and goes asleep in minutes when I put her in it.

    Hello boo, lovely photo :)

The baby's just under 7lbs, so very tiny, and I felt terrible because when I got to hold her she smelled the milk and started rootling for it - with Molly looking on like !!!!!!??!!?

I agree too that Feelie's super informed and wonderful when it comes to BF questions. I know she's helped me a few times :) :grouphug:
I'm fed up of chasing people, phoning, asking for things. If they want to come to me they can't, but I'm not going to beg for it anymore. What is the point of stressing myself out when nothing ever comes of it?

But feelie, lovely, this time you told them not to come. They won't come if you tell them not to because that would be rude and intrusive. If you can manage to reschedule for a time when your OH won't be there then it might make you feel better.

FWIW, Husband would leap at the chance of lunch in bed :rotfl:

Waiting for him to go off to the supermarket - my latest purchase is burning a metaphorical hole in my handbag.

We say 'know what I mean?' a lot. Didn't go to asda, know what I mean? And eh? It's cold outside eh? Oh and ken. Went to boots but I didin't buy anything, ken?

Me, I use know what I mean :D All the time, know what I mean?

Sami, I know what your saying about DH smoking but it really honestly doesn't smell of smoke at all. It's that play nest thing and was kept upstairs where he never smokes. The plastic smells of plastic, but no smoke at all. I even asked my non smoking neighbours to smelllllll itttttt. Anyway, she left good feedback, think she's a nutter.

Thats Christopher registered for school, local one, not that he is going there but cos its all messed up he's got to be registered there (know what I mean?).

Question is, can I be bothered listing more stuff on ebay?
