see sami that's where you're going wrong, it's meant to be socks not pants:D
    :p
Feely - I was only saying to hubby last night that we needed some baby bicycle clips to keep the legs of his sleepsuit in the right place whilst he is crawling about! Maybe some elastic bands would do the trick?

    socks on the outside ;)

I got some ITNG stuff for Benjamins birthday from Boots (gave up on online and went into town instead) and some lovely necklaces reduced from £12 to £2 or £3.

Also bought some shoes for me in Clarks - originally £49.99 reduced to £14.99 - they had some lovely little girl boots in at big reductions too. They had baby boy shoes too but no point on guessing at foot width!!
oh I nipped to the retail park on saturday to go to the card shop but somehow came home with a lovely pair of patent dolly shoes from clarks:confused:

they won't sell you kids shoes without fitting them IME anyway

Aww Glam he's gorgeous! Is that the asda baby event high chair? Is it any good? Am thinking about getting rid of mine and getting it, now ours is broken

    PSYCHIC!

Yes it is and its very good!

he's silly :p We get a choice of mates or durex, not sure if everyone gets that or just sunny wigan?? OH says durex are too snug;):rotfl:

We get Durex and get 20 in a pack from the nurse - she gave me 40! Said I can come in any time to get more

Weezl - yay for Mama, shame about the bauble :p

Tigs - Andrew looks fab in his big boy clothes. Can't believe how big he is now!

MFD - great news about Benjamins :T
LCK73 - It's a phase (thats what I keep telling myself anyway!) We had it around that stage and we are having it again right now but I suspect the one now is teething! Very annoying. Jack was possetting an awful lot and having a 2-3hr screaming session in the evenings, Gaviscon has sorted that out so it must have been reflux like Sami mentioned.
Other things my HV suggested were feed babe so they are sitting up, use a faster flow teat & wind before you feed as well as after.

Wow you guys were up late last night!
Jack finally slept through :j was wide awake when I put him down so turned him over onto his front & he was flat out in seconds! Must be the way the boy wants to sleep cos he slept til 6.30am, came for a cuddle & went back to sleep til 8.15am!

Is on his 2nd nap of the day and both times has gone down no problems cos he's on his front.

Been mad busy cleaning house ready for my friend, she's gone now so I feel like I can chill out for the afternoon! Although I do need calgel for Jack so might nip out later - could go to Boots when Jack wakes up and see what's on offer
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

how are you Claire? I got confuzzled by your 'thanks' post the other day, I wasn't sure if it was "thanks for making me feel poop" or "thanks you've made me realise something" or something completely different :)

I want to be working but also feel guilty. DH and I decided that once DS1 was born I was going to stay at home with him and I was going to register as a childminder so I could still be earning and contributing finacially to the house. However I've not been getting any childminding work as we are in a smallish town that relies a lot on work in the docks, factories and power plants in the area. As jobs around here are hard to get hold of and businesses aren't doing too well people don't need the childcare or are using family to help. Also we've had more childminders register/move to the area so there isn't enough to keep us all working.

I've always worked starting from a paperound, working in McDonalds, cleaning houses etc to working for a cheque processing company and then a high street bank. So I've always had something to measure my usefullness against with reports, appraisals etc. Although I've completed a NVQ since DS1 was born and finished just after DS2 was born I need something to measure myself against. I love my boys but even doing the housework, tidying up after them doesn't seem to be "enough" for me. DH works 39hrs a week but only earns £14k per yr and when I was working full time we were earning almost £30k between us. We can keep our heads above water (thanks to tax credits) but I have to watch how much money is in my bank account to make sure that bills are paid on time. Our bills work out at £853 a month without any food and as DH brings home £700 4 weekly it makes it tight (DH saves £200 a month on SAYE share scheme which allows us to sell shares when we need anything big doing). I also really limit the amount of time the heating is on to save a few ££'s and feel if I don't turn it on then its an achievement and the thermostat is never above 19/20C.

I am good with spending on clothes etc as I keep an eye on freecycle and I have a clothes share scheme with a friend (DS1's clothes go to her for her little one and they then come back for DS2 with any little additions she may have). We also have basic (cheap range) food from the supermarket and pick up reduced stuff to help. I always feel a scruff bag and dread the school run starting, going out places.

We do manage holidays in our 25yr old caravan which fortunately work out cheap otherwise we couldn't go and as our families are 200 miles away we have to limit the amount of times we visit so we don't spend loads on diesel. I think this is the main causes of my pnd as I worry about it all - so I'm now looking into using my knowledge and my NVQ to get a job I can enjoy and achieve something measureable. Although my boys are healthy and happy (i hope) I feel I need to make our lives finacially easier and therefore me be happier and more content to be able not to worry anymore. I'm applying for jobs and keep looking for work but do want to be offered something rather than being turned down as eventually I think that'll start working against the little bit of confidence I might have left.

So sorry that turned out as a real pour out of everything

But feelie, lovely, this time you told them not to come. They won't come if you tell them not to because that would be rude and intrusive. If you can manage to reschedule for a time when your OH won't be there then it might make you feel better.

I'm just thinking in general. Was upset at HV not keeping her appointment, when I spend all evening and all morning worrying about it. It upsets me too much, which wouldn't matter if there was an ultimate gain, but as people just keep letting me down, I can't take that risk. No word from Mental Health Team yet, I was expecting to hear on Monday, but no idea what'll happen now.

*sigh* LO just taken over an hour and a half to be convinced she needed that nap! We have friends due any minute - but they've just sent me a text explaining that they'll be late as their LO has overslept! Thank goodness - I'm managing to grab a quick sandwich for lunch as I'm starving and all that housework I was going to do in the last hour and a half is still there waiting for me! My friend will just have to understand!!!

that feels better out than in - thanks. Off to finish munching now. x

Aww Claire you've had so many 'things' swirling round your mind, no wonder you've felt stressed! I'm glad you've got a bit of a plan to work to now though :kisses3:

Looks like OH will be going to Abu dabi (sp?) for 2 weeks and be there for his birthday :):(

Claire - ((HUGS)) hun. I hope it feels better to get it all out.
I need to work too. Not necessarily financially, although I have never bothered to work it out, but because I want to. I love being a mummy but I want to be much more than a mummy too and I don't want to let go of being me.
Perhaps a part time job will do you the world of good without increasing the guilt IYSWIM.

    Ta xx

Once they are rolling you have no choice as to how they sleep anyway!! Wait until he is doing laps of the cot in his sleep!! Personally I would let him sleep however he wants, whatever 'they' say.

Edit - I am not saying that there is anything wrong with being a SAHM - I personally admire anyone who does it, I would go mad with frustration if I tried to do it long term.
Edit Again - that doesn't sound right either. I mean I haven't got enough patience to be at home with Benjamin all the time.
