aww my mum just rang to ask how i was after last night. she said she knew Kian would be fine and just wanted to check how traumatised i was.
this may sound daft...but thinking about accents. i was wondering if Kian will have a mix of Irish/manc?? my cousins who were born in Bedford (both parents irish born) have 'english' accents with no trace of irish at all.
SS- do you think molly will have a mix??'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Jillie, I'm really worried about how Molly's accent is going to be, given that she'll be bilingual with German *and* have parents with wildly different accents :rotfl:
I spent ten years in Dublin, and before that lived in the US, before that a brief spell in France and then north-west England is where I was brought up. So my accent is really mixed up - I can sound very Irish if I'm talking about Ireland or to an Irish person or about the stuff I studied or taught or simply talked a lot about when I lived there. If I spend more than a few days near my parents my accent gets quite regional that way again. Husband's accent is similarly moulded by living in a lot of places, and while he generally has an upmarket accent from where he was brought up he slips into my accent quite easily and gets this really odd Ameri-Scouse mix when we're in the UK. I've no idea what will happen to Molly's accent, but if she ends up in the international school here the accent will largely depend on her classmates, I suppose *shrugs* I don't want her to speak English with a German accent, which is what happened to a friend's two kids. But then I've another friend whose three boys are Scottish but who live here, and they're all fairly Scottish in English speech but very Scottish in German :rotfl:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

SS (& Beenie) there is an LJ comm for December babies b/c I used to be a member when pregnant! Took it off my friends list though so no idea how active it is. You could always join the dreaded Baby Centre (which is ok, just generally useless for advice or any rational though whatsoever).top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Thanks for the linky SS
SM - i'm no help at all but i'd strongly recommend getting rid of the Lexmark and buying an Epson or something you can buy compatibles for.
I had a Lexmark and it usually worked out cheaper to buy a new printer than replace both carts, now i've got an Epson and it takes 4 carts but i buy them on eBay for about £8 and they last longer than black/colour0 -
Oooh, Aless, I totally failed to find it! Thanks
So very very tired. I'm trying to work up the energy to go across the street to the dry cleaners but I'm exhausted. The weight of my boots on my legs is a bit much for me ... perhaps I should go buy one of those magic test sticks :eek:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Nothing to report except that the last time I felt this tired and crap I was incubating a person. I think the same little person is responsible though - but I've not had AF since October 2008 so who knows.....Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
