becles you are a much nicer person than me! I told DH that fatherhood meant the end of lie ins for about 14 years, and to not embark on it if there would be moaning :rotfl:.

Maybe if you each had a weekend morning when you tried to do it for the other one he would see how hard it is?

He works full time so he needs a lie in on weekend mornings. He wouldn't be happy if he had to get up and I stopped in bed.

sorry becles perhaps I am wrongly in a grump with him because of my own tiredness. I guess I just feel protective of you and when you posted about his response my feeling is that you also work a more than full time job and you study as well. I always feel you work very hard. :)

I am not meaning to criticise Craig. I guess I just feel that during the week you are both working and at weekends you could maybe share the work/rest balance a bit more.

But sorry if that's not quite the right take on your situation, you are absolutely the expert!

Becles, when do you get a lie in? Wrangling little ones and dogs is hardly a hobby ... I agree with Weezlie, the onset of parenthood means the end of lie-ins unless one parent is feeling exceptionally generous, in which case it's a treat and nothing to depend upon.

Sugar I will look at some turkey today, thanks for the tip :)

Can anyone help with wooden boxes with lids for toy storage? are the range and dunelm a good place to start?

Also, very warm socks with minimal ankle elastic? My ankles are getting v puffy at end of days and I've either got warm feet with hurty digging in ankle elastic, or chillblains!

Im agreeing with weezl here as well, Even when DH worked fulltime we always chose a morning each at the weekend to have a lie in. Usually I had a lie in on Sat morn and he would lie in on Sunday. Being a housewife is a more than a fulltime job, you dont get to clock off as such.

Now we have seperated, I get my lie ins on Monday morning as he has the kids overnight on Sundays. Everyone deserves a break.

    Morning all.

No time to catch up much as been listing on ebay. Thought I would remind you all that it is free listings today if you have anything to sell.

I've been up listing since about 6. Really need to clear the house of stuff. I'm fed up with having no room and I'm desperately in need of some money now I'm just on SMP so I'm hoping I do well to keep me going for a bit longer.

Might help if I didn't just buy myself those cheap clarks boots from the Grabbit board but I'm still not shrinking and my feet don't seem to fit my shoes, trainers, or boots anymore. I've got a few new clothes but not a lot, I just seem to be living in jammies and only getting dressed when I go out so that my two or three outfits don't wear out too quick.

Hugs to Becles, Weezlie (as usual) was much nicer about it than me but I agree that you should be allowed time off too and DH should be a bit more grown up and not take his bad moods out on you or the kids. I'll give him a swift kick up the bum for you if you like. xxxxx

I work full time. I use weekends to try to give OH lie-ins as I feel her weeks looking after an active toddler full-time are about as hard as mine are (and I function well on less sleep than her...). In return she tries to make sure I get a few hours most weekends to do what I want to do.

Admittedly my OH is a bit fragile and if I could get away with alternating lie-ins with her I would! But if she had 3 children and 2 dogs all week I'd expect to do nearly everything at the weekends!

Each to their own and every relationship works differently as long as both parties are happy... but working doesn't give you a sanctified, untouchable right to lie-ins (sadly :) )!

Sorry if that was too full-on. I admire your ability to deal with it all! But I hope you don't feel taken advantage and that everything is equitable.
