My mum always tells me how me and my sisters slept on our fronts from the moment we were born with no ill effects and actually improved back muscles apparently.

I haven't looked there. The one in keswick was so good because it has a sloped floor all the way so no climbing down steps or being resigned to a baby pool where mum can't swim properly. It also had a parent toddler session which we went to so I was trying to find something like that down here.

fatty - not sure how true it is, but a book I'm ready (about babies & sleep) says there's actually research that says a baby's waking is not related to hunger at all, as newborns with feeding tubes (so tummies never empty) still wake every 3-4 hours as it's something to do with how they're programmed at that age?? again, take everything with a grain of salt but I thought that was interesting.

You know what we could do with on here, is a tagging type thing like on twitter, so when we mention someone like @feelinggood, then it shows up on their profile. That would be great!!

One of my health visitors (I think) said that if baby is sleeping through early it is probably just that mum is a heavy sleeper and doesn't hear baby wake, so baby gives up waking up. No idea how true it is though .

I haven't had this problem but Erin feeds loads in the evening - I keep her with me until we go to bed around 11 and feed again before she goes to sleep around midnight, the HV said this was Erin 'tanking up' for the night and that's why she can sleep through. Don't know if that helps.

Not true in my case, I didn't do much sleeping when Erin was young, I was constantly checking on her but she was always fine and I'm quite a light sleeper.

Ed has slept on his front since about 2mths old just like mummy

Maz - Do you want to stop the breast milk? I know you've mentioned it a few times but as I can't see your face when you say it I can't tell if you are just stressed and in the heat of the moment as it were or hoping for someone to tell you to stop/its ok to stop? *hugs* for you either way xx

Nor in my case(s). And I kept them in my room until 8m & 11m.

I don't think I will ever sleep properly until they are 21! :eek::rotfl:
