Tomorrow is playing with toys day for us - we've mostly eaten, opened presents and driven between rellies today
Rhys seems taken with his highchair toy, a soft book and Snuffles (the soft toy dog) so far - he's cuddled up with him on Daddy's chest right now cos he wouldn't let him go
We've got quite a few things for the future, like the shape sorter and a crawl/walk mat, so they can go away for a while, and a gorgeous giraffe height chart for his room - it starts at 60cm so he's almost tall enough for it!
Not so many clothes (thankfully, as we have lots from OH's cousin) but we do have socks which look like Converse shoes
OH did well with his challenge too, I'm very impressed
Off to get more fruit cake.. sultanas and cherries, fruit portions, yes? Adding to lunch today, I've excelled myself with my 5-a-day0 -
I'm keeping half an eye for LCD TVs (32-40") and corresponding stands in the sales! I really ought to get some good quality business clothes too, I treat mine really badly and I am almost out of trousers again
and maybe a futon for the 'spare room' which is a poor spare room as it has no bed!
Sounds like most people had a nice day yesterday! Ours was pretty good and Elijah was very on form to charm a houseful of 12 extended family and a greyhoundLong list of domestic tasks outstanding for today though!
Tara, how are the sickly offspring?
Sami and I'm sorry I've forgotten who else, are you all feeling a bit better today? No fun at all being sick on Christmas morning with people and babies expecting stuff from you
Scruffy, please phone Caz's work! Or I probably will, which will be MUCH more like stalking so it would be better if you did
Oh - what OH's challenge Elle?
And Sami (I think), thanks for linking that toy washing machine ages back, Elijah is loooooooving itSuch concentration as he studies the buttons and the door mechanism and the spinny-round insides... fascinated!

Elle- I can't believe Rhys's pressie stash. I've just seen the pics on FB. Looks like he had a fab day though. That charm is gorgeous too. I've never heard of that before so he obviously did his research.
Bruno-good luck with the sales shopping. I love the sales and am tempted to leave LO with hubby now and head off to the Next sale as I got vouchers for Christmas!
Boxing Day is family day for us, so we're heading off to Henry's Great Nana and Grandad later for lunch. We had a blissful day yesterday, just the three of us and it was so relaxed. Henry was suitably unimpressed with his presents but Mummy and Daddy had a lovely day!
I hope those who are sickly/ have sickly children are feeling better today.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Morning everyone:)
I am glad everyone had a nice day yesterday.
Motm - I don't know what a promise ring is...I assume it is a step away from an engagement ring? Sounds lovely though, and I am really glad things are working out for you:)
elle - thanks for link to Argos sale for dyson, I am still after one although the animal one isn't on sale there.. Boo! I might keep eyes open for it elsewhere if I don't spot one in the next week or so I will try for the Argos one:)
internet is sorted now, well the phone line which is where the problem actually was..... A lovely engineer phoned yesterday and I nearly cried with joy/relief. Unfortunately we were just on our way to take the kids old tv to dh mates house, he said we would just nip and do it, well wel went out at 6.30 so I packed baby bag up with pyjamas and all sorts thinking we would stop an hour maybe.... Well come 10pm I was fuming we finally got going and I ended up going psycho on dh, then stormed off to bed!!!!! Maybe I over reacted a bit, but I didn't really want to take it on Christmas day... It could have waited until today, I am trying to be normal but I am still absolutely fuming about it... I feel that he basically ruined Christmas day evening. The kids kept asking when we were leaving too, all they wanted to do was get back in time to try out the xbox online:(
mel xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Hi all , hope you had good Christmas'. Ours was mixed as felt like I spent most of it BF with William upstairs away from everyone, OH bought me a camera which I took 4 photos on and it jammed so needs to be sent back, no more pressies for me till Tuesday when my sister comes down, my brother and wife had row Xmas eve and he proceeded to get drunk yesterday and feed my DS goodness knows what!! My Uncle has a bit of memory loss and constantly wanted to know where he was and getting his bus pass out to go home!! Then William wouldnt go to sleep til 2.30 this morning at which point Henry woke up and was sick!! So we have slept in till 8.30 this morning which is unheard of in this house......
Seriously thinking of changing to formula as had a real depressive time last night.... I know I should express more but just getting a bit too much... William seems to want to play rather than feed and when he does its for about 15 mins and then he is asleep.
Just seen the sales on tele.... are people made going out today to shop!
Sorry for the rant but needed to get it off my chest as it were!Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Hope everyone had a lovely time
Maz could you do mixed feeding? I did this and it worked for me , I used to give her a couple of bottles of formula as I just couldnt express.
Just filling in my complaint to the council about the scum who live next door - been a year of hell really and last nite was just about it for me - the party finished at 7 this morning despite going round at 2 and 3 explaining we have a 1yr old baby - then called the police - I had a group of 16 yr old drunks screaming at me that I was in the wrong???? how I keep my hands to myself I dont know but hey ho!
OH rand his mum last nite to wish her happy christmas and got a lecture about not sending her a card from DD1 with grandma on! She always has to pick a fight - Last year she said could he send her a card with Mum on as I usually get to both of you ( its not his dad) so I sent a personalised one this yr with their names on and put from us all???? clearly not enough. I wouldnt mind but neither me or OH have had birthday cards from her this yr and she has only seen DD1 in Feb and May this yeard just wanted a rant cos dont want to upset OH any more than she does!
19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0 -
Just a quickie from me, just going to go get ready to go over to my mum and dads for a second christmas (let them rest yesterday after a busy december in the world of having your own coffee shop).
Kids all had great fun but DS2 was a bit of a brat because DS1 got a PSP and he wanted one  Amber had fun staring at her pink wrapping paper then her teddy with a light up belly (seems to be a favourite).
The great tidy up has to be started soon, but not right now...
I have a had a quick read but can't remember anything, sorry. Sounds like you all had a great day anyway. Will catch up properly later.
Happy Boxing Day!0 -
Morning all.
Glad most of you seem to have had a good day yesterday.
Tara – have you rescheduled Christmas dinner at your house? How are the kids today?
Had a lovely day yesterday with OH, MIL and OH’s Gran. Holly was spoiled, as were we. Toys initially capturing her attention most are the Woozit, Lamaze Puppytunes and a big cuddly Minnie Mouse from Disney Store. I got perfume, diary, slippers, a slanket (yet to investigate that one!), money, vouchers, watch, and a cool hat from Holly (I love hats!).
I got DH a PS3. Unfortunately the Pro Evo game has not yet arrived, so the only thing he has is Call of Duty and it’s doing my head in already! Need to send him out in the sales to get some headphones!
Off to my parents for dinner tonight. We stopped in for an hour last night on the way home, but my brother, SIL and new niece will be there tonight so looking forward to that. Today is a lazy day – just off to make a fried breakfast for me and DH, yum yum.
Thanks to all who advised on the turkey btw. It was nice and moist and no-one has died so that’s good news!0 -
Morning all!
*hugs* to those poorly, with poorly kids or who are feeling less than cheery.. Oh - what OH's challenge Elle?
It was to buy Rhys three presents for under £10 so it wasn't all down to me.
Sami, I've just been looking at your pics.. yay for our boys matching presents!(the highchair toy, crawl ball and activity cube)
Rhys is up.. with Daddy, in the den eating their way through a selection box for brekkie, apparently! Nothing much going on here.. will do a mini buffet tea for us later I think0
