but do both yours eat meat?
I don't eat meat, and don't particularly like the idea of Henry eating meat when he weans, but then I think if he doesn't, does that mean that it would cause him problems if he did choose to eat meat when he is older? Does that even make any sense?!
MM- yay on a good meeting and moving to your home branch now.
Weezl- yay on another tooth.
We were talking about BLW at Boobie club today and someone suggested baking 'mushy' type foods in filo pastry so they take on a finger food form. I was a bit concerned that filo might be a bit salty, but apparently it works.
I personally think children should just be taught a healthy attitude to food and eat what the parents eat (assuming the parents eat properly!) so if both veggie then baby is too but if when child is older they ask to try meat they should be allowed.
I don't know any couples were both are veggie so usually its the meat eater that makes/feeds the baby meat.
I do know of 2 seperate girls who's parents were very strict about no sweets/all wholesome food etc and both are the first pigging out on crap whenever out of sight of parents :cool:0 -

Your right as you look at him or his right as he looks at you?
Not that it matters, I just want to know the correct protocol for if we ever get any more teeth.

MM- nice one. bet you're relieved to have it all sorted.
Think 'mummy led weaning' might be our route. DH meals just won't be suitable to give 'titbits' plus we eat around 7 most days and i;m sure Kian would like to be fed a bit earlier than that. or even a bit of both??
so i need to get a cheapy hand blender from asda and some of the bendy ice-cube tray things. is it ok to say, freeze the ice-cube tray thing with one type of food and then put all the cubes into 1 freezer bag so i have a bag of parsnips, bag of sweet pots, carrots etc?? and how long should i keep it for in the freezer??'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

One last thing on BLW before I forget - if you tell your MIL (or your mother, or your nan) that you want to do BLW they will most likely poo-poo your new-fangled nonsense.
If you tell them that you are not going to 'do' mush and jars, you are just going to let baby eat what they want of what you are eating then you will be met with lots of approval about 'doing it the old fashioned way'
I have lost count of the number of times I have been congratulated in cafes etc or by relatives for 'having a bit of good old fashioned common sense' :rotfl::rotfl:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

and if we do 'mummy weaning' its feed a bit of everything pureed and see how you get ongot-it-spend-it wrote: »Sami-obviously I am not Susan, but this recipe has always been foolproof for me. http://www.nigella.com/recipe/recipe_detail.aspx?rid=20006 Good old Nigella! His right
