MSE Parents Club Part 9

Hi All. :hello:

Maternity leave officially over. I am currently sat at my desk at work. How can four months possibly go so fast. I was fine until i put Alex in the car this morning, then welled up with tears. Did not want to leave my little baby. He is at Nans (OH's Mum)today, childminder Tues, Wed and Fri and my mums on Thursday. Bit of a mixture, but it cuts the childcare cost down to three days only. And DS is back in afterschool club. School actually open, after being closed all last week.

Need to become mega organised, sort all things the night before, took me ages last night, kept rembering things and dashing up and down the stairs. OH did all the ironing yesterday (on his birthday -bless) whilst i sorted out the bedrooms. Pea and Ham soup cooked yesterday, to help with tonights meal. Will have to find something to cook tonight for tomorrow. Must pull out the slow cooker again.

Will finish posting now, my chip barm has just arrived on my desk thanks to nice colleague who had done the chippy run. Yum!

I want to go back on maternity leave - I can only think of one way that would be possible though:whistle:

I find booking some annual leave helps as you have something to look forward to. I have 2 weeks off at the end of March to go on holiday and might take a day in February for a long weekend.

Its nice that Alex has a mixture of childcare, if I had family around i'd much prefer to [STRIKE]dump[/STRIKE] leave her with them!

I keep saying that I will cook at night for the following day but it never works out. Both hubby and I eat late/big lunches now because we never eat before 8pm. By the time I have got Benjamin in bed and cooked it is the earliest we can do it, there is no way I am cooking in my hour or so before Benjamin goes to bed.

And then starts the run-around of getting all our stuff ready and laying it out for us to be up and out in the morning!

You have to be really organised don't you!

We knew because Alice refused to eat them. (Although they were also both things which OH had made and gone wrong with so we knew they weren't the nicest food anyway.)

With Molly she'll pull hilarious no, Mama, !!!!!! is that?! faces and consistently close her mouth against the spoon/push it away/start making tight-lipped I'm-not-happy Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm noises. But she'll launch herself at my boob and pull at my shirt trying to get at that instead.

I find it amazing that such a small person can be so communicative. She was whinging yesterday - Husband picked her up and sang a bit and she kept whinging. He sniffed her nappy region and she started smiling at him - he changed her and sure enough she was covered in poop. It really did look like she was rewarding him for understanding her.

Big hugs WM and Mooki - I know what you mean. I've been mostly working from home because although Husband is doing almost all the taking-care bit, I just can't find a way to be there and fit in all the stuff she needs, and I'm lucky enough that I don't need to be in the office every day. It's so horrible to leave her, though. I hope it gets easier for you both :grouphug:

Thanks all who missed me :rotfl:. I've turned into a lurker :eek:. This parenting lark obviously gets easier as they get older, so you don't need support. I'll be back in May...

money maker - it is now and again, when he's quiet, sad, thoughtful, and no he's not growing out of it grr
elle-gee - you know how to make a girl feel old :rotfl:, Joseph is great (apart from eating problems - abysmal diet - dummy dependency - our fault entirely - and apparently talking late - one session with the therapist sorted that out , oh and everything is NO these days). The bump is growing and kicking, no complaints so far (apart from being treated like I'm at deaths door by the hospital, just because I like chocolate too much )

feelinggood - that's good news. Was Joseph early? Not at 42 weeks not really :rotfl:
MFD - do you want it, do you need it, can you get it cheaper somewhere else? :rotfl: Thank you, it's a great photo, as you can't tell how old he is in it - but he was 8 months and barely holding up!
Hi SB, I keep up with you on fb ish. In secret of course!

I did have an appointment with the HV last week - apparetly they visit when you're up the, pregnant again. Oh and she wanted to talk about my 'depression' issues - so what did she do? Didn't turn up and didn't even call. paranoid? Me?

Back to lurking again - Love to all the lil' ones

Mookie - Isn't 15lbs a good weight? I really have no clue myself lol, I never bothered getting Keira weighed as a baby but she was a bit of a chunker.

She is 4 in April and weighs 31 and a half lbs. So not much really, but apparently that's above average weight for a kid of her age (according to google) but then they say the height for a 3yo girl is 2ft 7!!

Either way, she has nice chubby cheeks (both sets) and doesn't have a big gut so fine with me
