PP, see your questions have been mostly answered, but another tip for getting a sleepy baby to feed is to undress them (and feed undressed) as being a tiny bit cold can wake them up.
So we survived Mothercare and got Finn a new playgym! He seems to like it, though the music might drive me a bit batty before the end.
Praying the weather behaves and Heathrow isn't racked delays tomorrow morning...Dad already has an overnight flight, I'd hate for it to be massively delayed as well. Fingers crossed!

Aww, Amber is so pretty and girly looking even as a newborn. Holly was gorgeous to us, but has my dimpled chin so looks dead scowly sometimes ha ha. But she is really pleasant natured, honestly!
Shades did stay on because she was so hydrated and didn't move a muscle. She was only on for 12 hours though as it was a borderline case. We didn't realise you were meant to keep the heat blanket on her when you removed her though. Seriously, so many people told me different things about feeding/jaundice etc, it had me so stressed and in tears all the time. Never mind. All better now!
ETA - Hello Krystal! Hope you got your answer about seabass?!!
Thank you, ofcourse I think she is lovely, even if she is a wee chunk now! Holly is lovely, I really like babies with attitude, my friends little one has a wrinkly forehead which is just sooo cute!
DS1 had the worst jaundice out the 3, 2 full weeks of phototherapy, so by the time it came to the other two, it didn't bother me that much. It was totally old hand (still didn't stop me having the day 7 breakdown though) :rolleyes:0 -
Anybody got any tips to get Caitlyn to stay on her back for a nappy change? As soon as you lie her down she starts acting like you're torturing her... As soon as the old nappy is off and you start with the clean one she's rolling over and wailing like a banshee... Makes it very difficult to put the washables on when I'm using a nappy nippa!!
Oh and Aless, while you're here... I used terry squares with Aimee practically the whole way through... What fold are you doing? I used to do the newborn fold until she was too big, then I just folded them into pads like you would for a pre-fold system...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Argh. I need some breastfeeding help, and i'm just about limited to here atm as i'm on my mobile so general web searching is a bit of a no go.
Basically, all has been going well, when first born she had the wide open mouth ready for latching. But recently she seems to have got a bit lazy and doesn't do that anymore she just opens her mouth a bit and is already doing the chin up and down sucking action before she then vacuums my nipple in.
I didn't think this was an issue at first cos her bottom lip is usually still turned out and she's putting plenty of weight on. But just lately when she's feeding, she.'s sucking even when i feel really empty and my breast hurts. It doesn't hurt for the majority, but today i had to take her off as i thought she'd never finish. Now i'm wondering if she's not latching on right anymore and not being satisfied. Last night she was feeding constantly to the point both breasts felt very empty and painful while she was feeding. I didn't know where she could be putting it all.
She's recently started making a clicking or tutting noise with her tongue while feeding which is a sign of incorrect latch isn't it? How do i get her to latch properly or just open her mouth wider?!
There's no support groups on til week after next.
I'm not even really sure what advice i'm asking for, and it's quite hard to explain in text as it is, but i'm worried it's not working anymore0 -
Off to catch up now as you have all talked through 5 pages while i was out!0

Krystal, I'm using this one at the moment: http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/articledetails.aspx?id=146
I tried the newborn fold, but it was soooo bulky it was making him incredibly bow-legged! I just worried at what such bulkiness would do long term to his hip joints. If you've got tips on making the newborn fold less bulky or another fold for wee babies, I'm all ears!
oh also, I'm totally struggling with reusable wipes. How do you wet them - like what sort of container? do you wet a bunch at once and use them over the next few days, or 1 at a time or what? we had been using a spray bottle to wet 1 at a time but they seem to be chafing his bum that way...top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

SB gave us this tip the other night, originally from Becles I think. Its to stick a little sticker (i'm sure Aimee will have some!) to the back of babas hand. I'm amazed at how fascinating a sticker is and she lays perfectly still while I change her.
Off to catch up - Hi everyone!:beer:0
