    Morning all,

Not had a full catch up as don't have enough time! Lot's of chatting last night!

    Remember the following:

Carla - excellent news on your mat leave - you must be really chuffed.

MM - yay for Dylan's phsyio! I must confess I only read the part of your post about the school hours and had to go back as I was skim reading. Guess it happens to us all then. I post things all the time that get overlooked. Guess that's how NMS felt too, a little too often. I am really pleased he is coming along well.

Choppy - well done to Caitlin for sitting up. How old is she?

Csh - good luck with Kieren's jags today. Is it his 2nd lot?

    Aless - Finn is lovely!

It's snowing AGAIN here! It never stops. Yesterday the delivery van got stuck outside my house. Today, the bin lorry struggled. I don't ever remember it being so snowy and icy for such a long period without a thaw. I am meant to be taking Holly to get weighed, but just don't fancy venturing out unless it's necessary. Will see how I feel later.

Also, I don't think my oven is working properly as I cooked my roast chicken last night and inserted a knife and the juices ran clear. I left it out to sit for a while and then started to pull it apart and there was blood running out of it! I had already given it 30 mins more than the guide said. I put it in for another 20 minutes and it was still bloody so had to chuck it. So much for my meal planning! That was 2 nights dinner and a lunch wasted. Sorry for that rant, was just really p***ed off!

    Yep, 2nd lot.
I'm praying for a thaw here like. Its awful. The cool just goes right into your chest and takes your breath away.
My Asda delivery was 1.5 hrs late the other day and my decking was finally delivered yesterday after initial delivery date of 23rd!!!!
Looks like yesterday was just a gap in the bad weather tho cos its been snowing heavily again this morning

Yes, heavier here today too. Only a light layer yesterday. My egg was blue again during the night so need to set the heating to come on for an hour too I think. DH picked up Holly's new crib yesterday so she was in that last night. I think it means she is a little bit more exposed that in her Moses basket though - her arms are sticking out through the bars rather than tighter in at her sides, so she was freezing poor thing.

She was in a funny mood yesterday - really moany at times. I think it was tiredness though. Then she totally came alive at about 8pm last night as I was putting her to bed! Ended up back up until 10.30pm and was all smiles and excitable! This morning is the same - she is in a really excitable mood. I am glad. I am not used to her being whingey so it stresses me out quite easily. I feel sorry for anyone whose baby cries/moans a lot. It can't be easy.

Right, enough from me. Off for a shower whilst I try to get Holly to nap. Catch you all later. x

ETA - Hello 3! Hope your family all got home safely yesterday! x
  • We are quite fortunate with money really as we bought when the house prices were good and didn't mortgage ourselves into massive monthly repayments (which makes it easier for me to be a SAHM :)). Through this site I have cut lots of our bills and plan for events the year has ahead, earn vouchers through surveys and eBay all my clutter as and when I [STRIKE]have the time[/STRIKE] get my butt into gear! We don't have credit cards as we paid them all off just after we got married.

I am most definately a bargain hunter though, and even if I won the Lotto I would still begrudge paying over the odds! ;):D

    xx

MFD (and 3), sort your avvy out! I've done mine :p

    Done! :D

    Morning everyone

Most schools here are closed - so all three children are home today.

Not a lot planned, maybe a walk up to the shops later - although the pram isn't too good on the ice!

Which is why I wouldn't really do a troll. Would be interesting to see how quickly we could clear off what debt we have if we did go hell for leather, but I'm not really ready for that. I'd like to get ideas on where to cut back (and to be told where is just stupid), but folk would get nasty so I don't.

I think I am a bit the same actually, I could easily cut right back on what we spend and pay every spare penny off debt, but I want to live at the same time so am trying this year to get all my debtors/creditors to accept offers of repayments and close or freeze accounts so I can work at paying them off. Although I am having murder with some of them....

That's just how I feel Tia! I am just not very thrifty :( but I do try now and again.

I wasn't a fan of either, but on new year's eve I saw gareth gates play marius in les miserables. I thought he was amazing :D

...but I don't know how much we're gonna spend on stuff like birthdays, holidays, etc. I need to have a think. How do you do it?

Weezl, if you see this, how do you do it? Also, thank you for the PM chick. I have emailed you :)

Choppy I usually set a maximun amount for different birthdays and for our annual holiday, and then challenge myself to get it cheaper! I find that if I start with the question: what do I want to do on holiday or what do I want to get so-and-so for birthdays then the budget can go a bit wrong. So I try to start with the question: 'what can I afford?' and then go from there.
