Morning all... not much snow here in London really, 1/2"-1" I guess, journey in to work still took waaaay longer than it's supposed to and was not very nice.
That's a great pic SMyou should frame it and haunt her with it in her teenage years
I know what you mean about the money thing, I get all stressed and tense about money but really, there's no debt, there's no risk of not being able to cover the bills and food, my situation is so much better than it might be that when I hear other people's stresses it cuts me right down to size...
I have these vast rafts of money coming in and going out again immediately, way more than I expected to have 5 years ago even, but I get very uptight when e.g. those tax corrections I moaned about the other month mean that our current outgoings will be larger than income in the new tax year. Gah! But I should really be counting my blessings and drinking less Starbucks etc! So sorry if people who are actually doing the whole ebay to cover food bills type thing get annoyed sometimes
Congrats on the news Carla, bet you're over the moonand yay for rolling, standing, biting, wriggling, grasping, healthy babies :T

mm - ooo, I have 1 Willow Tree and they're lovely. Those are so cute - need a baby one now that Finn is here!
harley - fingers crossed for your car. We had a car incident on Sunday so I know how you feel.
choppy - well done to Caitlyn!! :T
Bruno - you should come to the hills of West Norwood - we got about 2-3 inches!
SS, etc. - ooo can I join the eBay mission today? Only 2 things to list, but they've been sitting here since before Christmas!
MFD and others that responded to my BF question last night - thanks so much! Yeah I think the MWs/HVs do a bit scaremongering in their "no bottles!" "no dummies!" mantras. Finn does get a pacifierthat we bought after only a few days, but I keep it aside and try and only give it when I think is necessary, rather than a full-time default thing. Anyway Finn says thank you, though clearly he prefers eating fists to bottles OR boobies:

I posted on DFW once and someone went ballistic at me for having pets and not buying asda value nappies! My response was I dont smoke or drink and they would take up more of my budget than my cats, but no that wasnt good enough  there was one person that also took great offence to me bumping my own thread to ask a question, because he didnt know the answer to it and therefore I was wasting everybody's time and effort, clearly he was the fountain of all knowledge so if he didnt know then nobody would  havent ventured there again!
OH is off work today cos of the snow, we are speaking now luckily! We live walking distance from work so its not that thats the problem, everyone else lives too far away to get in or get home again! An old man died at the wheel of his car last night very locally when he got stuck, which isnt nice
I was at my nans when it started snowing, usually a 5 minute drive so I thought I should get home when I saw it coming down quite heavy, took me 2 hours to get home with a very screamy Seth!! It wasnt cos the roads were treacherous, it was cos of the drivers - people were just sitting there too scared to move, and then the cars were snowed in and they were having to get out and push! In the end I just drove round them all sitting there doing nothing, and I got home in one pieceI drove up the slope they were clearly all scared of going up and then a huge stream of them followed me when they saw they werent going to go backwards, ridiculous!!

 Just spent an hour in the car battling through the snow to get to school.
I rang them just before they broke up to check they were open and the headmistress was quite abrupt and declared that they never close due to snow.
Local radio's site says his school is open. But no, it's closed. THANKS!! I would have loved to have stayed home with my 2 week old baby and son, rather than wasting loads of petrol and time.
Grr :mad::mad::mad:
edit - Just checked the radio site again and now it's been updated. After 9am, what use is that to me?? Idiots. And i know it wasn't a cached version cos it was the first time i'd seen the site today.

the only time I posted on DFW and told them I know my electric was higher than most, but we have no options for ours, only NIE, so it cant be changed, and I got told I should be using candles and not watching TV to cut down a not very expensive billThe two best things I have done with my life

have a cuppa n get warm beenie
dh made it to work fine, but we're hoping he can make it home, as isn't it supposed to snow all day? Anyway, the roads are gritted, thank God, but we live at the top of a steep hill so if they don't keep on top, he has to abandon his car at the bottom (in central London! pathetic) - thing is, we reallllly need groceries tonight!
thanks for the compliments...he's a looker with gorgeous long blond eyelashes (can't see in photos) - gonna get all the ladies!
