£75 for a new battery, £95 for the call-out to come fit it. It's got to be the battery as none of the panel lights or anything come on when key is turned.
Ouch! Does it really need someone to fit it. Obviously I don't know your situation and I don't want to sound cheeky or anything, but in a lot of cars the new battery just pops right in with minimal fitting? OH just got a new battery for his car about 3 mths ago after it ran flat when he was fishing. The battery was £50 and he done it himself x0 -
will try and have a look with DH, but neither one of us know jack about cars, plus don't have many tools of our own on-hand. I did ask if it looked like he could fit it, but he seemed clueless. It's an old car so possibly more complicated? I'm normally all for DIY trust me.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Aless, are you with RAC or similar? Mine went in December and they came out and jump started it for me. Then I went to the garage and was charged £55 incl. fitting (RAC said they wouldn't come out again as needed a new one!).
PS: lots of hugs.

Hi everyone,
I havent been on for ages and only managed to read back the last few pages. Hugs for poorly babies & mummies, hope everyone feels better soon.
Aless - hope you manage to get the battery sorted. Not sure if you've already tried but its worth knocking on neighbours etc to see if anyone has jump leads to try first. *scratch that - just seen you've tried*
Isla's doing great, we hit the 6 week growth spurt this week and she's been having some marathon feeds (6.30pm - 2am on thurs night with only minimal gaps ) Her normal feeds last at least an hour anyway and have done since birth, she doesnt really sleep at the boob just feeds slowly. Hoping to get to booby group this week though to see if Im missing something
Someone mentioned Casualty too - I never normally watch it but OH hadgone out and it came on. I ended up with tears streaming down my face cuddling Isla
Oh, and Happy New Year everyone  (admittedly belated!)Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -

But thankyou! Although i had been suffereing a slight hangover as it was New Years Day!!
i thought i had quote other ppl ....
Bruno, i get the same way as your OH to be honest, now that katie is up a bit now though, we can bake together and do arts n crafty things and playdoh. the indoor soft play is a great hit, and we go to 3 "acticities" a week - 2 mother n toddlers and Rhymetime. When the better weather starts coming in, i want to sytart going to the indoor paddling pool near us aswell though!
Eek, not sure how to take that first bit Carlahow did you picture me before?? And yes yours are very nice pics
OH does do generally 3-4 activity group type things each week, but of course they only take up a couple of hours a day, then a couple of hours of nap, then maybe 5-6 hours of 'in the house with baby' unless you go to the park for a bit of it! I feel her and your pain!
Alesshow frustrating. I can only echo the others, first get some jumper leads for about eight quid and try them, if no luck then try to avoid that fitting charge somehow. Knock on neighbours' doors and ask if they can give you a hand! It's a lot of money for something that is likely quite simple once you know how and have some tools! Good luck.
