Oo oo I am a laser eye surgery evangelist! Good luck! Had it done... 14? 13? years ago and I am still ecstatic every time I remember ;p 5 minutes of terror, 15 minutes of pain, a month of oddness in exchange for many years of vast improvements!
And I hear the process has improved since then too!
Baby number 2 a definite possibility - pushing the country cottage further back financially here too...
Wow, that's a long time ago. You must have been one of the first. DH had it done about five years ago. He had to have LASEK rather than LASIK, so the recovery time was longer, and he had a couple of complications which were uncommon but quite painful. However, although I'm nervous it hasn't put me off.
Assuming that the cost hasn't changed, it is going to cost very nearly £2400, which is a hell of a lot (my eyes are very short sighted, and the worse your eyes are, the more it costs) but we worked out that is about 5 years of glasses and contact lenses for me, so will definitely be worth it in the long run :money:.0 -

I was booked in to have it done in November 2008 but then it was cancelled because the surgeon was ill, then I found out I was pregnant so I couldn't have it done until I stopped BFing. I've got an appointment tomorrow for the consultation to see if I'm still suitable.
Other than that, probably try for baby number 2 and possibly move, but more than likely not, as our dream house (cottage in the countryside with a massive garden) is out of reach financially for the forseeable future, or perhaps forever if we keep having babies.
My hubby had his eyes lasered five years ago and it was one of the best things he's ever done.
Plans for 2010? Ummm, firstly to make the most of seeing my little boy go from a baby to a toddler. Secondly to lose 3 and a half stone . Only one stone of it is baby weight, the rest is from before I was pregnant. I'm quite good at losing weight when I put my mind to it, just carp at keeping it off.
It is so cold in our house! We turned the heating off while we were away and it was 12 degrees when we got back today. It is now 16 degrees but feels icy!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Master plan for next year:-
1. Back to work.. to god only knows which job! Might be flipping a coin at this rate!
2. Get some savings behind us
3. Have an organised house
4. Most importantly... Rhys to be healthy and to have a good year, but one month at a time on that one for now
Definitely no second baby in 2010 or 2011 here!0 -

Our boiler packed in yesterday morning just before we left so hopefully the pipes are all still ok when we get back as it was meant to be -6 whilst were away :eek:Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -

I like hearing the positive stories. DH did have some problems when he had his done but doesn't regret it at all. I'm such a wimp though. I have a low pain threshold which doesn't help, although I must remember I managed to get to 10cm dilated with nothing but co-codamol so if I can cope with that, I should be able to cope with a few days of discomfort in my eyes.

I keep meaning to ask you...how's the vacuum cleaner? Is it amazing?0 -

No there is no one there to let the engineer in so we will have to wait til were home on the 9th:eek:
Hoover is fabby dabby really quiet and has good suction, different story in the garage where the cylinder is, if someone is in there when the hoovering is being done they get deafened:rotfl:Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Oh goodness Scruffy, I do not envy you going back to that!
Chopstick I almost said in my post that you've been through labour, how bad can a bit of eye surgery be?! My OH is a bit of a wuss and can't even give blood but he was fine having it done.
We got given these when we were away http://www.unitedoddsocks.com/productdetails.php?id=100&type=baby . Not my idea of a good way to spend £14 and I cannot be doing with everyone telling me my baby is wearing odd socks! I'm such a misery :rotfl::DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
