nice bookcases here but pricey! Is your OH handy? He could make you one from MDF

Thanks CSH - they look nice but bit pricey for me. OH isn't the one who does the DIY here unfortunately so that would be down to me and I don't have the energy at the mo.

They do look easy to make though.
    Hi everyone, it's AM here.
I am not using my old username anymore, made this one earlier but thought I ight as well keep it.
Basically I'm sitting in a Premier inn with my boys, SS basically told me I'm not allowed to go home, not even allowed to stay in my town, if I do they will apply to the court for my boys.
I'm absolutely devestated! I cant beleive it, they took my sim card an everything, I can beleive this is happening, I managed to go back and grab some bits (lap top obviously) but they made me leave the boys in the ss building while I done it.
I have to go to a refuge tommorrow, but thats it now, I'm not allowed home, I'm gutted, keep crying, my mum met me at the house and we just cried too.
What am I going to do? I have to start again, not my choice, I was so happy staying at home :(

Sorry to hear of your troubles DKAM - I hope the new year is better for you and your boys.
    Am I allowed to cry??

Jasmine is still awake and keeps getting out of bed to play and no amout of threats, talking nicely, bribes or anything else we could think of is working :( Why wont she sleep? I have obviously done something wrong at some point to have a child that never sleeps and doesnt do as she is told at bedtime EVER !!!!
Through the day, she genuinely is a really nice child, come 8pm she is the spawn of the devil ! (not really, but you know what I mean !:p)

Ditto for Archie - he is a trifle energetic until bedtime and then he is a screaming demon....he always calls for daddy though as I am too[STRIKE]cruel[/STRIKE] tired to spend another hour after the 1 hr long bedtime routine and only go up absolutely necessary.

    Ok here goes
We have a little furry friend and 2 grown ups in a room, who is more scared the mouse or the grown ups?? You guessed it the grown ups. I was on the bed DH was screamin like a girl eveyr time it came near him and in the end I killed it with a lid off my tupperware box. It had been living in my bedside cabinet eatin my midnight snacks!!!!
Ok hope your laughin now with a mental picture of mine and DH antics in the bedroom last nite.
I know that doesn't help how your feelin but I hope it made you smile a little.

  • Aww, MM. Its so difficult isn't it?

Poppy's now at the tiny toddler tantrums stage and I get 'Poppy's not naughty anymore, Mummy. Poppy's a good girl now'. My heart could melt.

Luckily we don't have any problems with her going to bed (in fact she asks to!) but I have a feeling all will change when the sides of her cotbed are taken off!:rotfl:

You also get dumped on a bit though, like any other job. You end up doing stuff the teacher should be doing. Except they are on 25-30k and you're on 7-8k. And dealing with kids is very tricky now as Sami knows, don't do this, don't say that. Must not say anything negative or look at them wrong. Don't pick them up when they fall down, oops! ( I do that ).
So true! my mum's job description used to have that it was her jon to clean up sick and make cuppas for the teachers! and she always gives them a cuddle! :p she's now at the top of her pay scale though so earning a lot more than 8k (but still not anywhere near a teacher's salary!)
I'd love to be a HLTA like my momma but I can earn much more in admin - I was earning £500 pa less than my mum when I quit I'd love to combine the 2 and be an admin at a school though. I had a temp job on reception at a local high school and I was always in tears though coz I dealt with all the files of the kids in care :( I just wanted to take them all home and show them what a family should be like
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
