House prices will FALL by up to 10% in 2010, top economists warn

  • Wouldn't make people waiting to buy a house feel any poorer, or BTL'ers looking for another property.

If they lost their jobs they would.

It depends on what the impact on the wider economy a further severe fall in house prices has. Ideally house prices should come down in real terms, or rise less fast than wages, to get more FTB's on the ladder.

As for the BTL'ers, oh dear :D

If I could help him out you did not capitalise "i" or "will" and omitted the "." after now although I suspect you did that on purpose and I am not really a grammar Nazi, or any type of Nazi, and never went to a grammar school but I did go to school and all I learned at school was how to bend not break the rule.

good point - but don't encourage him

if i need to post or compose anything formal it's 100% correct. we only come on here for a bit of distraction at work (well i do anyway) - who gives a monkeys what happens on here :)

But Hamish also takes the same approach. "Try Google" is his stock phrase. Let's not make out this is all one way traffic.

I wasn't, but having been on the receiving end of Graham telling me to find stuff he "predicted" it should be fair to point out he refuses to find his own "predictions".
Don't expect other to do what you refuse to do.

Can't say I have ever asked Hamish to prove a prediction but if he refused to show me one I questioned it would be fairly hypocritical to then ask me to find proof of one of my own.

I am not trying to make it one way, I only said just because I saw it as fairly hypocritical.

    LOL this forum is amusing.

I ask chucky "where is this?" as I couldn't find it. I couldn't find it, because what chucky gave back was different to what he said (thats not a pop at chucky). Therefore, that's the reason it could not be found. It didn't actually exist, so I couldn't find it.

Therefore I asked where it was.

But, the lengths gone too based on 3 words "where is this".....outstanding.

    "being on the recieving end"..."hypocritical"...

    Brilliant!

When I am bored on work I come on here as well. Indeed it does not matter a jot what happens here. I enjoy the cut and thrust of a good debate but whatever you, I or anyone else thinks will happen is hardly going to matter in the overall scheme of things.

Which is why I like to laugh at the rabid bulls, like Hamish, Sibley and Valerius as well as the rabid bears like the fruitcakes on HPC who talk about the collapse of society, 80% reductions in housing prices and buying lots of tins of soup to put in the loft just in case.

I do not think either party realise they are a mirror image of the other :D

Could you find that prediction they would increase the scrappage scheme as soon as it was launched for me then please.;)

That is a fair comment, of course, but as I had Hamish saying the same to me today for not seeing a post he may or may not have made at a time I did not regularly read this forum I wanted to strike a balance. After all if you ask someone to back up something they have said you do not expect to be told "Try Google" and have some wittering nonsensical response to the effect they posted it months ago you should have read it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Maybe one is Dr Jekyll to the others Mr Hyde ?

    Nope.

As as you well know, as we have been over this what, 3 times? I never said what you are trying to get me to prove I said.

I said it about a month afterwards. Which is what you said I was wrong on, i.e. it wasn't when it launched.

So if I go find it (again) you will only come back to me and say "but ahhhh, it wasn't then then was it, and you didnt specifically say x y and z, you are WRONG"....worded with a huge sense of victory.

Hence why you hold on to it, only to bring it up yet again.

What a surprise. Said it would be extended when it first started. Again, it's a "recovery" in which we extend the debt to keep the "recovery" going. So again, just delaying the pain.
I'm not predicting after the event, I said it on the threads at the time, it will still be there if you want to go searching, but frankly, I cannot be bothered to "prove" myself :)

As i said it's an example of a prediction which is not far off what i said in the post in this thread.
chill big G and have a good Christmas
