city link?

I am expecting a delivery from Citylink and am tracking it via amazon link, says due for delivery today, it says the following...

22 Dec 2009 08:19:00 AM Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire GB Out for delivery
22 Dec 2009 05:37:00 AM Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire GB Arrival Scan
21 Dec 2009 01:36:00 PM Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire GB Departure Scan

but I live in Essex  So is the poor delivery man coming all the way from MK :rotfl: or does it mean they are sending it to a nearer depot?

  • hmm, i know they have a depot in ipswich... isn't that closer? (i'm northern irish and have a very poor grasp of english geography)

to be honest city-link are in it deep at the minute, a lot of their depots have been out of action with the weather and there is a huge backlog. i've just had to call a customer whose parcel was supposed to be delivered on friday to let him know that there is no guaranteed delivery date for him. basically it'll get there when they can deliver it.

if you have a tracking number i'd call their customer services on 08444 930 930 to get a better idea of what's going on.
  • They have an Ipswich depot, but normally ours come from Hoddeson for some reason. Shall give them a bell and see what they say! thanks!

  • Try tracking it on the City Link site. Amazon tracking doesn't seem to reflect the actual depot involved.
  • Yeah it appears to be so! Their central computer system says Milton Keynes whenever it is updated, but it is actually out for delivery from Edmonton branch, so should be here before 5.30 and then I can relax!

Im awaiting a City Link arrival from Amazon too. Only mine says (on CL's site) that delivery is expected 'yesterday'. Brilliant.

Ive had a lot of trouble with CL via Vodafone in the past so im hoovering around the door like a dog atm.
  • Oh crikey, hope mine turns up today!

i am waiting for a city link delivery too , due to arrive on the 19th and according to their tracking has been out for delivery everday from then until now .

on the city link homepage is a list of places that they won;t be delivering today due to weather conditions and it includes bristol - which btw is actually nto badly affected by snow at all .
    I am journeying to a debt-free life.

  • Oh my, just read that....
Please be advised that the low temperatures and adverse weather conditions throughout parts of the UK are affecting our services and in some areas conditions are so bad that we are unable to make deliveries today. Worst affected areas are Northampton, villages around Milton Keynes, Preston, Liverpool, Cumbria, Cardiff, Bristol, Southampton, Bicester, London and the South East. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience

The snow is practically non-exsistent around here now! (In essex btw) I have been out in my car everyday, but today due to waiting for this, and had no problems!
