Just wanted to tell you all that Russell Hobbs Steamers are half price in Sainsburys at 19.99 at the moment, along with lots of half priced slow cookers etc. Might be a nice gift for someone, or if you are going to a wedding or an engagement present?
Also saw Christmas trees ranging up to 6ft from 99p to £5 in Homebase. They looked a bit undernourished but would do for a second tree if you have 2 trees
:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

I bought some lovely boxes today (will take the wicker baskets back to wilko's) these were SO much nicer and the same price. The pattern on the matches my theme of silver an blue perfectly. They were like shoe box style with handles. I got them from QS if there's one nearby you. They have all new stock and they had some fab mugs for snowman soup. I'll have to go back in the week - I ran out of money after posting my ebay stuff.:rotfl:I :heartpuls M.S.E.

i have had no money for the sales. last year i waited for the last minute for birthdays and christmas and put alot on my credit card very silly. same as the year before.this year for a nice change i want to do it right and have everything bought and paid for long before. i have been reading through the thread and i think your all amazing and very organised. hopefuly i can learn from you all. i haved started i have my notebook and am busy filling it in. thank you for all your tips and ideas.
Raven - sorry if I've missed you on there, but have you looked at the sister thread to this, which is all to do with making money? I've not had much money either after having paid car tax and insurance and DD1's birthday party = it's been an expensive month so far!
This thread does have lots of good tips though, so keep checking in.Thrifty Gifty February make £20 challenge £21.05/£20.0 -
I went shopping at the weekend, yeay! I didn't get many bargains but it was nice just to get out and look
I mainly bought my son new clothes as he's just moved up into the bigger size. Husband and I had the usual disagreement of where to buy the clothes - he says Next, I say Asda as it's cheaper! I won when I dragged him in Asda and showed him we could get nearly a full wardrobe of clothes for £35, I love Asda clothes. They wash really well and last so I don't see the point in spending double, so I left feeling very MSE
I think dh then caught the money-saving bug. We were in Boots and they still have loads of sale stuff, aisles and aisles of it - must be the snow putting people off. I had a moan about how their 75% off sale started Wednesday so I wouldn't be able to go (I work full time). He then said that he could pop in if I gave him a list of what to look for, and that he could buy my Mother's day present too! I was very impressedMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -

Well, having been 'absent' for a few days I cannot believe how much I have to catch up on on this and the money making thread.
I feel useless as I haven't been near a sale (too busy sledging!), and haven't got much online either, so not doing too well so far. It is only beginning of Jan though I suppose! At least I don't have many birthdays coming up- most of mine fall in the summer months. Next b-days (after mine! :j) are dd's and bf's (40th) in Feb, so need to get organised soon.
Sounds like you're all getting some great bargains though, well done! :T" If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. "

Haha, he has his momentsI'm not going to praise him too much until I see what he comes home with on Wednesday. Our Boots is right beside Next and he loves buying clothes for our son in there. He'll probably spend all the money he saves in Boots on clothes in Next .
