i am seriously bored and have no craft stuff! Thinking of making cards this year!! xx where is the best place for the stuff and also does it work out more money to make then buy??
PS to my previous answer: yes, it will cost more to make them than to buy them.... but they will be original and there won't be another one in the world like it!
It really depends on how much stuff you buy too: I've probably spent thousands on supplies and equipment over the last 15 years and as I don't sell them I won't recoup any of the money. But everyone loves a handmade card! (This includes scrapbooking stuff as well...)Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

mary op - what i`ve done with address book, for me anyhow, i think about what the website is about in one word, like craft, and i list all websites under c for craft, i used to do it on the computer but the hard drive went faulty once and lost everything.
elysia 2003 - thank you for the card review...i `m sure yours are just as good. I personally love homemade cards
junior j - handmade cards can work out expensive, but its your choice how expensive you want it to be, if you use google and type in free backing papers, you`ll get loads of sites giving away free ones you print yourself. They even have verses. Ideas . Theres a tread on mse devoted to it as well and people on there say where free stuff is.
You can use everyday items to imbellish them, like beads, buttons , cotton wool , foil, anything really.
Sorry i cant post links yet, i`m not old enough in the posts...
Im actually in the process of going around charity shops because alot of them sell craft magazines for 10p and alot of the backing papers are still in there. Or an alternative look at magazine subscriptions, find the name of a craft mag. Go on there site and download them.
Best I shut up now as i can go on all day, "the works" is cheap as well and they got a sale on, as reguards card, shipley, bradford best place if you can get thereChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -

Hey there just thought I'd share what I did this christmas for presents as theres a lot of newbies here.
As I was expecting our second baby in december I decided to just get gift vouchers for everyone this year (except for the kids) which I saved up for by doing surveys, selling on ebay etc; But wanting to make it a bit more personal I bought each person a purse or wallet (car boots/ebay bargains) and put the gift card/voucher in it... so I saved a fortune on wrapping paper as well as the items were small and there was no lugging about or storing of huge pressies.
Don't think I'll get away with doing that again this year but it was great while having a newborn around as it was all sorted and organised very easily.0 -

If you have Word on your computer then there's a lot more you can do too. Using text boxes I have made lots of different sized messages e.g. Happy Birthday. I make lots of different coloured ones so I usually have one in the write colour and style to match the card I've made. They add a nice bit of detail to the card.
Another thing you can do is make your own toppers using clipart. Microsoft clipart is good (and safe to download). http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/default.aspx They have good frames and borders which I have printed out before too.
That's just a few links to start you offI love finding free craft stuff, not only for me but for the art and craft club I run at school - the more free craft stuff I find the better as kids use A LOT!
