Btw - has someone made a nice voucher envelope or something on here? Or am I dreaming? lol If someone has, can anyone point me in the direction of some instructions and directions please?
Thanks
Clare x
Hi Clare that might have been me.
I make about over 20 - A5 collaged envelopes each year for my special needs son. So when he receives money throughout the year (birthday in January, Easter, Holiday, Christmas) he will understand what it is for e.g. I have different categories - Big Breakfast, Treats, Cafe, Clothes, Days Out, Pub, Music etc.
I cut out glossy photos on each subject from magazines and make the envelopes look attractive. Then place smaller envelopes inside with the money.
I found the best ones are white with a top opening - for some reason they were really hard to get this year so he's ended up with a mixture of brown, white, top and side opening, not ideal
Throughout the year I look out for any good pics and put them into an adhesive photo album. Love looking at the all the cakes
piglet, hope you're better in time for your holiday - that sounds very action packed!!
Well done Miss Hoodie, can't believe it's nearly time for another challenge
MummysLB - what a thoughtful pressie for your friend

Just having a think about Christmas Eve Hampers for adults
Last years version was snowman soup, mug, pot of gold, christmas DVD, set of new pjs or loungewear, bath stuff from lush, few sweets - might have been a sweet jar
This year what can I alter to not get too repetitive?
Will do snowman soup and pots of gold again, plus the primark pjs for mum and me as we both love those flannel pjs.Maybe I can do the same without the pjs to make a little tradition
What can I get?- snowman soup and pots of gold
- pjs/lounge wear or nice fluffy towels
- Slippers
- Nice bath stuff
Right that was a bit easier than I thought
Just need to pick up some fluffy towels from the Debenhams Blue Cross Sale if there are any when I go and look this week and then look for some slippers toofinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

So just starting to get back into the land of the living!
You guys are doing so great.. puts me to shame but starting to get organised for xmas now.. think I'm a little to late for getting stuff for a stall organised now as also still getting my house in order.. but hopefully for friends and family I can do bits and pieces....
just wondered.. where do you get the little 5cl (or slightly bigger) bottles mum2one? I'd love to do the vodka thing!
You have had a busy year, the 5cl bottles - there recycled from home, - last yr M+S had their malt whisky sets 75% off - stocked up xmas, fathers day, bday - dad didn't complain!!
I make them in bigger bottles then decant into smaller ones. You could use anything, depending on size bottle - theres some brand of water that is glass bottles seen in supermarkets.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

We go to the church carol service on xmas eve mid afternoon and see all our friends for mulled wine afterwards and then its home where we always have a special family meal around the table where we each get to choose our favourite thing to eat. My husband is a chef, he makes an extravagant 3 course meal for us whilst the kids chose pizza and chips last year. While they are all around the table I nip to the kitchen for something and while there sneak into the lounge and put our hamper next to the Christmas tree. When we've had dessert we go into the lounge and the hamper is there. It gets opened and then its bath time and the kids put on their new pj's etc... before we start a cosy evening in front of the fire.
Please don't think I'm mad but I think Christmas Eve is sometimes more magical and exciting than Christmas Day!!!:rotfl:
Thats an amazing day, - I love it, it makes Christmas last longer for the children, - do you fancy loaning hubby out - just for the cooking!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
We have a Tesco update - the letter came this morning, no goodwill gesture, escalated the claim to head office - more becuase I felt they were trying to palm me off, they didn't want to help - as I had complained in store, told to ring and ask for the store manager. Did that - they didn't know where the store manager was, so suggested they take my number and ring me back, about 30 mins later phone rings - the manager who I originally spoke to - told her that I wasn't happy with the standard of reply and that they want my custom but have done nothing to induce me to the store, she says would a gift card make a difference, yes......... oh ok, if I were to send a gift card would we see the matter closed. Yes. More principal but sure go for something for Miss Hoodie.
Bless her, shes on bottle duty, no-one is allowed to touch the vodka mixes bar her, so I ain't complaining.
Can't believe its 66 sleeps, nearly time for another challenge....... give you all a laugh, had a call 2ngt from the builder about the bathroom, its fun and games, at mo seperate loo, but coz of mum and my mobility - its being knocked into one and walk in shower, but to do that there moving it all around, reckons its about 8 days work, - no prob, then he says your case is urgent (being done through Occupational Therapist and some other group), we might be able to squeeze you in before xmas.........
No way...... I don't want to be here while there doing it, and no facilities, and where going to wrap my prezzies!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi all
Mum2one, even if you don't do the bathroom now, how are you going to manage whatever the date? Chemical loo?
As for Tesco's.................. I wonder how they would feel if you went to the local paper with your story? I bet you'd get more than a gift card.
Christmas Eve - We don't have hampers but my family are Polish so our Christmas is always on the Eve, and eating anything up to 10 or more courses (thankfully less nowadays) and opening some of the presents. After marrying ex, I carried on doing the same only now we have the Christmas Day meal as well, then Boxing Day. Bit much on the old tum0 -
Mum2one Tesco's should have been a lot more professional in there reply pity an on looker who witnessed the incident couldn't email tesco head office to make them aware of the incident;)
Been thinking my eyesight was going funny all day and have just realised one the kids has been playing with the screen size
still at least my eyes arent getting any worse:rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks for all your ideas for the hamper I have got a list of things together now, so just need to go shopping.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0
