Hi everyone!
Mum2one - well done on at least getting a letter from Tesco but what a shame they had to fob you off. At least after ringing they are now sending you a giftcard - hope it's for a decent amount! I would still complain to Head Office though as the Tesco store involved should have dealt with it properly in the first place (not to mention, not actually treating you that way!). I hope Head Office are much more apologetic.
Rufusdog - the placemats look beautiful! Well done!
Mary-op - I hope you get things sorted with BT. I have found them to be the worst company ever and when I left them 3 years ago, I vowed never to go back! I really hope they can sort things for you.
I have done a little bit of shopping this morning (but not much as saving my pennies for the Isle of wight at the weekend!). I managed to get some small cadburys selection boxes from Wilkinsons for 50p (89p normally, but 50p till tomorrow) so that was a little bargain.
I also got some wool as a lady I work with is knitting a jumper for my DS.... I got a vintage pattern for £1.50 of a chunky knit cardigan in red and white with reindeers on! Sounds a bit hideous, but it is a beautiful, typical "american christmas" fair isle type jumper. I cant wait for her to knit it! She's really excited about knitting it and I'll post a picture when it's finished. My DS hates jumpers, but loves 'zippys' (as we call them - zip up cardigans), so fingers crossed he'll love it!
I also got a gorgeous pair of silver reindeer earrings from ebay arrive today - in a lovely organza bag. Really pleased as they were only about £1.99. They were meant for my sisters stocking, but they are so nice, I might get some for myself and my aunt.Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."

Bloomin' 'eck! My laptop played up and lost my post so here I go again
Had a better experience with Mr T than our marvelllous bargain hunter mum2one
2x lg boxes Classic Thorntons £6 each (1x birthday present 1x for me on cake baking and card making weekend) = £12
1x lg box Bendicts Mints £4 (for after dinner on Christmas Day)
2 x household caddies (one to brother's car care stuff into and one for me to tidy under the sink up a bit) £4.50
1 x lg flexi trug (to put garden hamper into) £4.50
Total = £25
Thorntons £12
Bendicts £4
Caddies and trugs on 342 £9 (£3 each)
Not the cheapest outlay but the chocolates are huge boxes and supposed to be half price. Mints are reduced can't remember by how much and is another lg box. The caddy for car care is sturdy and blue and can put some of the bottles and cloths in there so my brother has a bucket and carry caddy to use again. Flexi trug can also be reused for garden tidying or compost as they came in at £3 each I'm pleased at that price.
The Mr T offer is 342 on some household items, glad I waited a couple of days to get the flexi trug to include it on this.
Oooh nearly there now :jOnly things left for family are a couple of bits for brother and some glass bowls and coffee for mum and possibly another book.
Will be looking in debenhams tomorrow for towels and glass bowls then off to M+S outlet to search out some slippers. Then buy the ex a birthday present on Sunday as cheaply as possible :rotfl:final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
I am making a hamper for my girls in the theme of their fave toys etc. For my daughter who loves twilight i am making her a box from MDF (about A$ sixe and 4 inches deep) with a lid attached via small hinges. I was going to paint the outside in black acrylic paint and inside in red. On the lid i wanted to glue on some pictures of the twilight charcters. But then was going to "seal"the whole box. Do you all think PVA glue would be ok or should i get spray varnish?? I have also got to find some photos or magazine cutting of the chracters too
You can get clear varnish in pots that is water based. This might give it a good shiny coat.
Went up town this afternoon and got a couple of other bits for the boys baskets and wrapped them up in the cello when I got home as looked enough.
Also found a new looking Barbie in the charity shop, one with the moveable arms and legs that bend and the hair is nice too and good clothes so going to package this up save spending a tenner on a new one that she will just chuck the packaging away. It was only £2 to buy.
Got the clasps and finished the bracelets off too. The broken jewellery came this lunch time, I was surprised by how much there was, nearly half a carrier bag full so I have started unstringing it and sorting it out but so much there. Will be great for making some new stuff out of.0 -
Hi all
Clare, after reading your last post, I DO KNOW what you mean about the envelopes, I think it was a link to a blog with photos and I think there was a variety of different ideas.
Mary, I often get connection problems with BT Broadband but never ring them. The way round it is to shut everything down and leave it for a while. Then switch back on, usually it works, if not, switch off again and leave it again for longer this time. The longest it's been was all morning.0 -
Ooo good Angela, at least I'm not going mad....lol now to find them! Can anyone help??
Mary - blinking BT! Good to see you back, however briefly!

Hey all! Hope everyone is well! Just a query about Vistaprint! I have in my basket a free tshirt and free mug in cart but when i go through Topcashback the mug goes up in price to 8.29?! Anyway round this or shall I order mug seperately?
Go in through the regular link and add the free stuff to your basket. Open TCB in another tab and go through to Vistaprint - the stuff should still be in your basket at the reduced price.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Last year I bookmarked this site via this thread, - the pages are about unusual gift wrapping for presents - it could be that the envelope wrapping was also from this blog - you could take a look at the other pages

Angela - tried the switching off thing yesterday and it didn't work.........now BT are sending someone out I'll still let them even if I can stay online till then.....just in case. Don;t want to phone them and say its all ok then something else happens.
They've always been really good.........having said that, never had these kind of problems before.
Don't think I'll ever catch up with everything on here............lol
Just hope you're all ok anyway.
rufus - you are doing well with your bargains:T

Hello everyone you are all doing well with all craft making and bargin findings.
I found a tv 22" with dvd and freeview and the wall bracket .its for the boys bedroom so has to go on wall as they have no floor space as it is. It was $198. I thought it was a good price. Well I am nearly done now just a couple of bits to finish of hampers for 2 of my friends. I'm doing them as a surprise.
Did anyone else get snow today?? It's so cold I've had to have heating on .
