Mum2One, what a horrendous experience, with your crutches as well. Those people ought to be ashamed of themselves.

As for Miss Hoodie coughing -you don't have a holiday booked do you?

    Morning All

Hugs mum2one - hope you get more than just a letter of apology!

I need some help which I'm sure you'll be able to help me with. I was thinking of making advent candles with Beavers. Just buy normal tall candles and then decorate them. Do I need to buy like liquid wax to do it and if so is there anywhere that I can get it cheaply? Or could I just use marker pens and draw on with them?

    Thanks

Spent yesterday making christmas cakes with my mam and my back is killing this morning but we had a laugh and Im feeling Christmassy now.

Popping out at 10 to try and pick up some stocking fillers for OH, then back home to make coaster calendars!

Will try and catch up later in the week xxx

We do - off to Devon - she slept with me last night, thought better to keep an eye on her, touch wood shes got the runny nose today - hopefully clear up before weekend.

Had a call from tesco, apparently the cashier was absolutely mortified..... and he had only been there 3 weeks - so he was working, but he admiited he ignored my request for help with the bags and that he didn't check the clothes - but remembered to take the tag off the vodka. Apparently he's being retrained, they spoke to the security guard, he apologies, but was only doing his job..... no comment to that one!!!

Theres a letter of apology in the post for me....
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

  • Thanks all for comments on Pots and Monkey. xxx

    MUM2ONE - Hope u get a decent apology....and a decent something in the post!

EMZY81 - The sock monkey......this is the 3rd one I have ever made....the 1st one I made I did by hand and that seemed to be the easiest!! The others I have done on sewing machine and I use pins to hold everything together before I cut. I also cut templates for the ears. The mouth I have tries different ways....pin on and stuff then sew.....or pin on then sew and leave a little hole then stuff and sew up. Where are u having difficulties???

The socks I have used so far are ones from Primark. HTH :)

Got some bits for my pots of gold today

Found a pack of 4 gold bowls in Sainsbugs for £1.49 alongside the clear plastic ones x10. As I only need to make 4 I decided to get these, if I was making a lot I'd have gone for the clear ones

Also picked up 4 Cadbury's wishes, 4 big gold Quality Street to go in them, will keep a look out for a cheap but nice gold tinsel decoration I can take apart and split into 4 then see if I can find a couple of other gold christmas sweets to go into them then later on and a Christmas or gold Scratchcard and Christmas Lottery Ticket.

glad I 've made a start on these

Made my christmas chutney today and got 6 jars. At least 5 to give away! 2 as pressies and maybe 3 to sell and one for me please!

Leaves just the hearty ale chutney to make next weekend then all is done for the preserving unless I come across anyt sloes anywhere for sloe gin or haws to give haw brandy a try

Had a mega busy day today, I have a bathroom door again at long last!

Just need to update my cost per jar/total ingredients costs for todays chutney to cost a jar price

Then in a couple of weeks will make a start on the christmas cakes -phew - better double check how much I have in stock and what I need to get in. Thank goodness nearly all the presents are bought!
