Love the fatballs idea - think I'll give this a go when I eat up my yoghurts in the fridge to create some pots
One big bag of birdseed and some lard should do the trick nicely with some string throughfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Fat Balls
Heat your excess fat (dripping, lard, oil)
Cool slightly and add mixed birdseed, raisins, leftover cake or bread
Wedge piece of lolly stick with string tied round it into an old plastic bowl or yoghurt pot
Pour in mixture leaving other end of the string outside the pot
Put pot in the fridge and let it set completely
Hang our for the birds using the string to tie it to a branch
Thanks for that mary might some of these to go in my aunt and uncles gardening hamper as they love feeding the birds.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -

CDSmiler - You are very clever just doing Avon with only friends and family. I've just delivered the Avon order (over two evenings) during thunderstorms, hail stones, rain, sunshine (for 5 minutes) and a lightening storm. I think the only thing we didn't get was snow.

Hi guys, sorry, I keep popping in and out of this thread like a jack-in-the-box...it's so hard to keep up with you all.
Fab idea about the fat balls for birds, I was thinking of putting a little feeder up this winter - though have to be careful where I hang it as we have a catlet... its a bit unfair enticing birds with yummy seeds with her sat underneath...I have just made jam for first time ever its just cooling but it smelt yummy when I was making it.
Does anyone know where I could get some free fabric samples for tops of jam jars or what else I could use? X
Abdonz - are you a member of Freegle (formally Freecycle), you could post a Wanted on your local group site and might luck in. Otherwise, not completely free but check out your local charity shops for curtains/table cloths you could cut up. I am making jam and chutney for xmas presents and eBay also seems pretty reasonable...I'm trying to resist the lovely xmas fabric in my local sewing shop that's £9.50 a metre :eek:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Abandonz sorry you have had a bad week, hugs x I always leave my wrapping until later as for me its one of the things that make me feel Christmassy. Some music and some candles and of course a glass of vino!!
I am very happy as my grandad is out of ICU and into High dependancy so a definate step forward:j It also means he will be ble to have cards and presents for his Birthday on Tuesday. I have just made him a photo book of " a day in the life of Pip" its all photos of him in the park and playing. I used a A5 folder and wallets I *ahem* liberated from work and a pack of Tesco value photo paper that was under £2! So all in all a nice meaningful present for very few squids!
Thats brilliant news Pipsmum - there soon have him out of HDU, really positive. Love the photobook idea, sounds lovely.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Survived Miss Hoodies pyjama party - even I went in Pjs. was going to get dressed properly, but about an hr before we were going, mad panic lost the candles..... I'd put them in with the party bags, but no she had to have another look, and how, why, where, I don't know we found them under the pillows on the bed. So it was shower and grab PJs for quickness.
Did look funny wondering round bowling centre - esp when we did the toilet run, me and 10 children all in tow. Must say it was a brilliant party, did not have to lift a finger, the kids wanted for nothing, and although £11 a head (), was worth it. Better as mum and dad went halves with me..... She's already asked can she have a bowling party next yr!!
Mary - That fat ball recipie looks fab thank you and the robin breakfast. Hope you get the bath scrunchy sorted,
Susan - Someones had a busy day, love the mini pamper bags
Mummyslittleboy - guess your daughter be plzed with the GHDs,
Ferrero Rocher tubs, -
what about a sweet display - could layer the sweets,
mini pamper items,
2 part drinks set, a version of snowman soup,
could grab a mug and put a mini whisk in it maybe cello wrap that , instead of the cone, get some choc sachets and put them in the tub with a small bar of choc a little treat.
Make up set - nail polish, eye shadow etc, pack tissues, mini wet wipes
TQ - Can't believe you've only got 5 weeks left, times flown by, your really organised, putting us to shame!
Abdonz - Sorry you've had a bad week, if theres anything you need, we're all here
Even organised and re-listed the items that didn't go last week on ebay. Started sorting out the jewellery, and ordered last bits and dabs to finish off, may even have a go at doing a bracelet......xx

Morning all
Do any of you know how to make the best of a second hand Barbie doll's hair? Wondered if there was any way to get it looking a bit better? Their hair is hanging down but it separates and I cant seem to get it looking nice. Thought may be one of you might have some tips. Rufus xx0 -
