susan - how awful  Never had that happen but OH always gets shopping anyway thank goodness.
At least it'll go back into your accounts -just seems unfair that you'll have to wait for it.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

 Not had that happen but have heard of others and think they just had to wait for the payment to go back in - think it took 3 working days in the end, which excluded the day it happened. Shocking and bang out of order - they should have to refund you and THEY wait 3 days!!! Hope you get it sorted soon

Hi Susan, I've had this happen before, the shop pays it straight to the bank, then, like with a lot of payments, the bank takes 3 days to process it before it shows up in your account.
Went to Tesco to get school shoes & last bit (I hope) of uniform (checking the list tomorrow, too tired today). Some of the school shoes were half price, other bits of uniform were also reduced. Doubled up my vouchers to buy them & to make up the difference I grabbed OH a pair of shorts in the sale & myself a T-shirt (some items were reduced even more when we got to the till.
Also went to JJB to get Ds1 trainers & football boots - they have a good sale at the moment with lots of styles half price. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
I had this happen in Asda, kicked up a stink in store and they gave me a gift voucher, as a goodwill gesture, Asda were blaming the bank, so made them let me ring the bank from the branch, authorised the bank to speak to Asda and Asda had to admit it was there fault, something on the chip and pin machines. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

I really need to catch up this week end! I have had one of "those" days neraly every day this week so am very behind
This morning I was supposed to be buying uniforms but some money that was due into my account didn't arrive. It is now due to arrive on Tues so I'll have to wait until then - I hate leaving it so close to their return date, but not much I can do about it
Instead I thought I would do some batch cooking, baking and put some stuff on ebay.......but then my electrics all went off so bang went that idea until the electrician arrived to sort it out - thankfully it's all working again now but a wasted morning.
This afternoon DS's 1 and 2 had a playdate but when I went to wake up the baby to take them, he was covered in blood! He had bitten his tongue in his sleep!!! I dealt with that, then DD2 had an upset tummy, so I had to ask DD1 to tae them to their friends for me (just around the corner) and they were late
Gosh, I am just soooooooo stressed out I feel like hiding under the duvet!! However, I still have 3 kids here to care for so I am about to make tea. Hoping to get some of the uniforms over the week end (the cheaper bits) and make a start on the wardrobes.......
hope everyone else is having a better day than me!!!!

Oh supa-girl!! What a week. Glad the baby's ok!! Must have been scary!
I'm an emotional mine field since haivng DD. Watched Coronation street tonight and the whole buiness with Dev's son being ill and ending up in hospital? Nearly ahd me in tears! If I was home alone I probably would have ended up blubbing!! lol
Well, whoever mentioned the gadget shop, I've ordered 3 personalised classic books!! Should ahve been £20, was £4.99 each, even with postage each works out as only £6 and a bit! One for me dad, and one each for friends. Thank you!
susan42 - that's horrible with the cards!! Have you contacted your card companies? Or are you confident the money is on it's way back?

LOL Clare.
I bought Sis one of those last year. She loved it, so I bought DD1 Dracula and Frankenstein, and DD2 Wizard of Oz. Instead of Dorothy it will be Elysia, and instead of Toto it will be Jack (our Jack Russell) LOL.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Dont worry it will go back in and its not Asda who are holding it. This actually happens alot but most people dont notice it. When a payment is attempted onto a card it going into 'holding'. This is kinda like a waiting room! When the store confirms the transaction was successful the transaction is fully completed, and when it is confirmed that the transaction was reservsed at payment (ie card declined, card removed thus voiding it etc) then the payment is reversed and the money is in your account! because of internet banking and some banks showing amount as soon as they go into holding rather than when it is fully completed (I presume to stop people spending £1000's when an account doesnt have the money to cover it and do a runner with the money) it measn more and more people are seeing the money as being removed from their accounts. Its not real problem if you have money in your account and therefore dont need it, but if you need to withdraw the cash then i can see how it would be a very big inconvenience.
Its the bank that is doing this 'holding' business NOT Asda. I work in retail and have had people come in shouting about how a transaction has been put through three times on their card earlier in the day, we check our system and it clear states it was only put through once but 2 other attempts were made for whatever reason (the extra 2 which are in the holding area). We always tell them to call us back if this does get fully completed and they never do because it always reverses as we say it will.
So dont worry about it, the money will be back in the accounts soon enough Im sure. If you do need the money desperately then contact your bank and speak to them directly.

Thank you all for letting me know my money will be ok.....I dont need it as i wont be doing anything for a few days.
It was just the embarressment and the horror of what they done. Things like this always happen to me, and hopefully the money will come back...fingers crossed.Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
I hope this gets sorted out for you on your side Susan - it would upset me greatly if it happened to me
As for me have jsut got back from Cas-Vegas looking for mum's wedding anniversary present. Found the Dartington Crystal shop and had a look round and then had a chat with the sales lady who told me some vases were 1st quality and had been told to reduce them by 50% at least. Picked at 24% crystal hand blown made in Devon medium size vase for £22.50 reduced from £55 and then saw a smaller one reduced from £30 to £10 so go this for me too!
I hope she likes the vase, it is beautiful and I'm very happy with the price as I expected one to cost way more than this. A lovely surprise!
Now thinking how I can get a bunch of flowers to go in it without spending a load at interflora etc.
Still 7 weeks to go to find this out.
So mums' present is nearly sorted for the anniversary, time to recheck the christmas presents list and see what else there is to buy.
Can't find a garden stool/kneeler anywhere - has anyone seen one?
