Hi all
Mum2one - good luck with catching up on your courses.
That's a lovely table and chairs for your mum. She's very lucky to have such brilliant pressies. Hope she likes coffee LOL
Elysia about you having everything in a bag ready to take out (good idea), it suddenly gave me a wake up call.
I often use those see through freezer bags with seals when I take certain items out with me, then when I get home end up moaning to myself about having to put everything away. So if it's always the same items, why don't I just keep them in the bags all the time? :T This started off a chain of thoughts if I could re-organise my house in such a way that lots of related items were in sealed bags so they wouldn't get lost, or clutter up the place.
Sarah, I hope you're not too busy for a coffee0 -
Hello all :j
mum2one - your mum;s just going to love her birthday...........well done you especially on top of getting your assignments done:T
sarah - hi........good to see you...........don't worry about challenges..........I haven't done them...well not yet....(hangs head in shame) -sorry mum2one.........;) but will let you know when neighbours builders have finished and we share a skip to clear the garage - and I'll list whats in there..........lol
elysia - 10 footballs !!!!!! I'm gobsmacked...........lol
Just had thought about 'organizing boxes/bags'.......might be a good idea to always have a small holdall packed in case of emergency rush to hospital or emergency visit to relative that means overnight stay..............my friend often has to visit hospital for various things and keeps a bag packed so she doesn't have to panic at last minute.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Had to laugh about not parting with the footballs, bit like Miss Hoodie when she had her dummies, she had them everywhere, the only way she would let them go was to tell her their was a dummy fairy...... she would only part with one a time - cost us 50p a time!!

Mary - thats a really good idea re the bag, know when mum had her stroke last yr, the ambulance crew said pack a bag..... its where to find everything, espically when ur panicking.
Never forget once - (try to avoid the gory details), I got rushed into hospital, they phoned mum and told her to bring me overnight bag..... she brings me a nightie ......red satin..... bear in mind I was in hospital on gyne ward ... so red was the worst colour!!
Sounds daft but we both have nightwear etc in suitcase -we use for Travelodge (after having a 6am fire escape!!) we make sure tidy nightwear) with everything but the kitchen sink.
Going to borrow that idea, thank you xx
Good news the car passed its MOT today, was treated to a service as well, and we have mum involved now with jewellery making, she made 6 pendants 2day, (cheated slightly as they were necklace wires and pendants ready to go, but she helped!!
Halfcost - Had an email to say free p+p with purchases over £10. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Hi all
mum2one - what stone is it in the ring? Looks gorgeous
I know what you mean about nightwear for a hotel evacuation. I remember when I first got married and went to an overnight dinner and dance and I left early with a headache and went to bed alone. Fire alarm went off.
When the children were younger I always used to worry about a fire in the house and used to have emergency items near the front door, nappies etc. I stopped having one after realising that no matter how well prepared you can get, something can happen in a way you never predict e.g. mum having that procedure in the hospital after having a barium meal - so unclothed on the bed and the fire alarm goes off.........
I had a friend that took all this emergency bag stuff to extremes -
had those metal chain ladders in every room, fire extinguishers and was always locking all the doors in case of burglars as well. When his MIL was sleeping in the summerhouse one night, he wouldn't let her back into the house LOL
And after all that panic about fire, one day their dining table caught light after someone left a burning candle on it. He never planned for that!0 -
Hi all
Clare, I haven't done anything plant related with my slim fast tins which I guess are about the size of your milk tins, I'm using them as a secret place to hide biscuits and other things from my children LOL
Hope you don't wear yourself out back at work after your baby, even if the work isn't that busy at the moment.
lol Thanks Angela!Clare - how big are the milk tins ? (more years than I care to remember that I last saw one)
I've used the good old gravy tubs to put plant markers and string in plus couple of tea lights but if they're bigger (wider) you could fit other stuff in as well - packets of seeds (herbs maybe?)
Thanks Mary. I was wonderign whether they were suitable to actually plant things in.... They're quite big, bigger than gravy tubs. Anyone tried that? Its gone all posh now your sent ur own personal dvd, and then some are downloasds....... assisgnment at that time of the night - headless chick - with having an exam for the other course, the new ones took a bad seat!!
Now 2 weeks behind on both courses, so catch up this and next..xx
This sounds like hubby!! He's doing a Social Work degree and he's gotten so behind because of the work being done in the house!!
Hope you're all doing ok!

Hello all :j
mum2one - love the ring..........your mum is going to have a brilliant birthday
clare- sounds like you could plant something in it, herbs maybe - but if it were me I'd feel inclined to plant the herb (or whatever you want) in a plastic pot and put that inside the tin.........that way the plastic pot could have holes for drainage and you could put gravel in the bottom.
Well I've done nothing today (apart from a meeting this morning with soc.worker& hung washing out) but did make a few little packets for seeds to send to a friend of mine who'd just sent me some seeds from her garden. I made her some seed packets before and she'd used them up.
Clouds looming now..........think washing should come off the line while the suns in hiding.......:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
