Hi nici and kayandi, welcome to the forum.

I know it end of may but doesnt matter when you join in, you made more christmas cards than me, and I been here since january.

I must admit though have been collecting boots voupons for so long for things for my hampers and been on vista print every month via topcash back stashing things.

I realised today when I started making fathers day hampers, I have alot of things, perhaps I need a sort out to Mary before it all gets out of control

kayandy - its a problem getting the proper retro sweets I think though some have managed. In the good old days of Woolworths pick and mix would been ok.
I tried to do some for my kids and fill them up with 1970's sweets but couldn't find all the ones they remembered. Good luck with it. I want to do some retro sweet boxes for christmas for a couple of friends but haven't even thought yet what I'll put in it.
Maybe stepdad will be happy with just an assortment of 'child like' sweets -marshmallows, humbugs and stuff like that.

susan - bet I've got more stuff than you that in the end I'll probably not use...................lol:rotfl:

Not as retro as spangles or hanky panky popcorn (remember them?) but asda has a good selection of dib dabs, and sherbet fountains, drumsticks, flyings saucers etc. I was looking at them only yesterday for my father's day sweetie hampers.

Edited to add: I've heard a lot about this company but not used them before, but have a look and see what you think. HERE

Hi kayandy! Don't worry, last year I didn't join until August/September and managed to be well prepared!

Had a slightly spooky moment today - I decided to make some cupcakes (been threatening for weeks) today, and didn't tell hubby. He arrives home after popping in to Morrisons and he picked up a pot of strawberry frosting!! Spooky! Mind reading!! Or else we just both fancied cupcakes after watching Junior Apprentice.... lol

Well I dug out a notebook today and wrote out a list of all the people I buy christmas presents so that I can see whether I can match up any of the gifts I already stashed about the house. I bought some really cheap books off the bananas website so that will help with the kids books. They were either £1 each or £2 eaach and if you bought so many you got some extra ones free.
I mentioned on another thread my other idea at the moment. I bought a pink zip through fleece top (like a tracksuit top) for £1 in my Happit clearance shop. Then went up to home bargains and bought iron on diamonte studs. Put it together for my daughter and she loves it. It looks so good I'm going into town tomorrow with a list of sizes I think the girls in my family will be come christmas. Then I'll iron on the diamonte designs you get in Home Bargains to make bling jackets for them all. They won't know they only cost me a £1 each.

Thanks Nici - that was a reminder that DD has some of those somewhere, as yet unused. What a great present for not a lot of money, and the kids will love them. :j

There you go, you're getting the hang of it. You'll be more organised than us lot come Christmas. :D

    BTW What's the banana website?

Hi and welcome to all the new people . I didn't join until the end of August last year but this site and the money making sister site helped so much. Last Christmas was the first one ever where we actually had money left at the end of the month rather than still paying for it months later :D

This year I'm being organised for birthdays and special occassions as well as Christmas and it feels so good to not be rushing around, and also to be saving lots of money!
