You really sound like a dirty, grumpy, self-centered old git. Good luck with the money grabbing young tramp, Don Juan! I think you'll be doing your wife a favour.

Why?? What makes her a money grabbing young tramp? You don't even know her. She is actually in a higher paid job than me and works hard as a single parent. As for being 'dirty' (I have a bath regular) and I'm not old.Why is it that when Men go out with younger women, they are classified as 'dirty'??

As for the girl at work. Yes, she is a younger model and I mentioned to her this morning about the incident yesterday. She said that she didn't blame me for feeling fed up with the situation. She actually mentioned about 'moving out'!!!

So take her advice and make your wife a happy woman.

Ok, then can you explain why a wonderful young woman with kids, in a high-paid job, would want to move in with a much older footie-watching, beer-guzzling married guy who doesn't seem to be any more interesting than a gnat and thinks he's all that? Surely she could find a younger, fitter guy with lots more prospects than paying maintenance to his ex-wife for the rest of his life?

You don't even seem to have had more than "conversations". And now you're moving in?

    Sorry but....:rotfl:

It is sad that all women can think about is cash. I have said quite openly that she can have the house and I'll even pay a few quid a week to her, as she has no other money to live on.

But why stay in the marriage when a better offer is there.Surely people move on all the time. As for the pension. Why should I pay more into it. I will have another lady and kids to look after. The wife has been kept for many years, through her own choice.

Aren't you jumping the gun a bit here....words fail me as to the rest of what you have said.

I apprecaite each of your responses and I understand were you are coming from.

In response to maggied, yes this was the straw that broke the camels back. I mean fancy having somebody around showing them a knitting pattern. She's 48, not 88. In the meantime I missed half the match. And all she can talk about is going shopping this week - whilst I'm working. I spoke to the girl at the work do, and she is more than just 'flirting'. I think it will be just a case of moving straight in.

moving straight in when she's got kids? oh she's that type is she

    I take offence to this.

    And I care because...?

Ask the bit of stuff when you can move in. Start packing. Hide details of any savings, pensions etc, because wifie will be entitled to at least half plus continuing maintenance. Your kids will hate you, but you will have a new set to play with and you wont have had to change any of their nappies. Maybe their real dad will take them off on weekends so you can watch the footie.

During the conversations we've had, she has had problems in relationships with younger guys. She commented how it would be nice to go out with a man with more 'worldly experience' and I'm sure that is why she is offering me the chance to move in. Probably to see how things work out. I'm sure she'll be happy with me - my wife has been for 25 years!!

a man with more 'worldly experience'

But not enough experience to earn a wage that would pay a mortgage.

Why would she be entitled to maintenance?? We have no kids at home.
