I've got a tin now but not as money saving as some, I ended up buying a tall biscuit tin reduced in Morrisons.. (couldn't find any in Poundland).

I've just been to Sainsburys and i think a lady in there had just finished last years challenge as she was using the coins machine where you put all ur change in and you could hear it all rattling as she put it in - she was still there when i left!!

  • Count me in on this one... I'm new here and this seems a good money saving challenge to start with.

Not quite sure how I'm going to do it yet as don't know if will be £ a day (hard if I'm trying for no spend days) or put a few in at a time and mark off on a calender. Am hoping to devise a 'method' as I go along so any ideas very welcome

    Roll on 1/1.10 :)

I like your idea of marking it off on a calendar. I bought some little stick on ones (like the ones kids use in school) before christmas and have more than my kids need. I'm going to copy your idea (hope thats ok) and stick one on my tin so I can mark off everyday that I add my pound and then I will be able to see when I need to catch up :T

  • Yep count me in too, I did try once to save £3 a day but failed after the 1st month. But I think this is a more doable option.

But instead of keeping the money in a jar/pot/piggybank for the duration of the 365 days, I will be putting the money into a saving account once a month.
