Although technically we're still in 2009, today I have had a great moneysaving success so thought it would be good to share & kick off the new challenge :
I have been hankering after a black suede slouchy type bag for years, but havent found one I like. I did however, have a purpelish one from Accessorize that had faded to a nasty marroonish colour. Have been searching for a black cold water dye but again, no luck. Today I took the plunge & bought an all in one machine black dye. Ignored the 'do it at 40' instructions & stuck it in the machine on a 30 woollen wash cycle ...
It has worked :j:D:j it hasnt shrunk :jit looks fine so far.
The stitching has remained purple ish but that's fine & it's now drying in my airing cupboard ... should be ready to use some time next year :rotfl:
Cost of new bag would have been about £40 ish, cost of dye - £4.99 so I call that :money:
*runs off full of glee*

Great idea ... dying a bag, must look through my bags and see what i can do to spruce them up (i have too many bags, and only ever use the same 2)Stop trying to keep up with the Jones, as they're trying to keep up with the Smith's0

:rotfl:oooops!! Just been on the Next sale!! Though having re read what does and doesn't count on page one, I'm still inside my yearly budget!! Just:o! When I took off workwear, shoes and a coat I've only actually spent about 52.00 on 'normal' clothes. For that I got:
1 dress
1 jumper
1 top
3 pairs of jeans
So not too bad really. And I'm sure in true Next sale style a couple of things won't turn up!! Fingers crossed I'm lucky and get some money for Xmas so I can put it towards what I've just ordered.
Right - off to work out what I spent the other 200.00 on! Think I'll blame OH and the kids for the rest!20K by Xmas 2010 (10 in 10 challenge - debt):
Debt: £799.21/£10500
Savings: £0 / £95000 -
Calm down, we dont start until the new year
I just posted the thread up early so peeps have a chance to think about whether they want to do it. Pace yourself is my advice.0 -
Phew!! Hopefully with what I've just bought I shouldn't have to touch my budget for a while into the new year then!!20K by Xmas 2010 (10 in 10 challenge - debt):

I decided to also make a budget of £100 for my DD (6) and DS (4) between them as thay are in school uniform most of the time and don't get chance to wear a lot of their clothes before they have grown out of them. Anyway, I have just received a bag of hand-me-downs for my daughter and the clothes are gorgeous! At least 4 complete outfits and a couple of extras. It was like christmas morning watching her look through it. I don't think she'll need anything else until the summer now xxxNerd No. 12452014 Challenges:Attempting to snowball to freedom!0

Hiya
Count me in too please. I have far tooooo many clothes as it is, half of which I don't wear (or don't quite fit yet) so I don't expect to find this challenge tooooo hard .
I think I will include work clothes as well as I do tend to mix and match mine a bit.
To help me in my goal I am going to withdraw £100.00 and keep it in a seperate pocket in my purse and only use that money when buying clothes, that should soon curb the urges :rotfl::rotfl:
Good luck everybody
